Some News To Share

Well I am just a little bit excited (O.K a lot excited) about being 'crowned' Scrapping Outback's Chipboard Highschool 2009 winner. I am suspecting that Miss Sandra and Miss Jules may have had a hand in organising this little banner - Thank You, I just love it. Ooo feel very spesh indeed

Thank You so much to the ladies who voted for me throughout the competition - your support really does mean so much to me, and to our wonderful teachers Sandra, Rachelle, Julie and Carole - you made going back to school just so much fun!

Huge Congrats to my gorgeous friend Kerryn who also came Runner Up. You can check out Kerryn's amazing work here

I am also so thrilled to announce that Scrapping Outback has invited me to be a Guest Designer. Totally squelled when I received the email from Sandra - My stint starts from July and will be for 3 months. Totally excited about this and thank Scrapping Outback for this awesome opportunity.

On to scrappy creations - not much to share today as I am still battling this awful virus bug that just seems to love hanging around. I did manage this over the weekend - it's a little handbag card created from a template supplied for 'the bag challenge'; one of the CC challenges at Scrapping Outback

Something to ponder

Makeesha Byl asked this question today which has had me thinking.

Q.If there is one thing you would like to achieve in your life, what would it be?

For Me as a mother - it is to always provide a safe, loving, nurturing environment for my children that encourages their independence, self expression and positive self esteem and self worth. As parents I believe that it is paramount that we encourage our childrens independence, self expression and self esteem. It is also important that we show our children 'boundaries' and guide them 'gently' through the journey of life so that they grow into well adjusted, independant adults.

As an adult, I am so blessed to have a wonderful, loving relationship with both my parents and I would hope that my children would have the same with me

For 'Me' Personally - to have No regrets. To live life to the fullest. Breathe in life, rejoice and make the most out every precious moment - no matter how small or how big. Life is journey - embrace, reflect, grow and always move forward. Live for today as though there is no tomorrow. Life is far too short to have regrets

So it's now over to you.... If there is one thing you would like to achieve in your life, what would it be?

Scrapping Update

I haven't had much of a chance for scrapping of late as I have been struck down with one of those nasty cold viruses. The kids and DH have also been suffering with it as well. Fingers crossed we will all be healthy again soon.

Isn't it amazing how you can have something sitting on your desk since the beginning of the month and you think oh yeah that's not due until such a date (got plenty of time) and then you find it is now nearly the end of the month and you realise $%@# that's due like now (LOL!!)

Anyway here is my take on this month's 4 product challenge pack over at Scrapping Outback

'Sad Little Star'

Up Close Peakies

The criteria of this challenge is that you are only to use what is supplied in the kit (4 products) and can only add the likes of ink, paint, kindy glitz etc. So it is challenging, but then that is the whole idea of it LOL!!

Scrapping Outbacks Chipboard Highschool is now finished and we are all officially graduating this weekend. Head on over this Friday night from 7.00pm to join in all the 'prom' festivities and cybercrop with us. By the sounds of it, Miss Sandra, Miss Rachelle, Miss Jules and Miss Carole have some fantastic things planned

Well, I last night I finished off my final Scrapping Outback Chipboard Highschool homework assignment. I cannot believe that school is now out. What a fabulous time I had and thankyou to our tutors Miss Sandra (Sandra Gerdes), Miss Rachelle (Rachelle Minnitt), Miss Julie (Julie Hill) and Miss Carole (Carole Janson) for sharing their amazing altering techniques with us all. What I loved most was the fact that I got to scrap again. I have really missed creating as it has had to be put on hold for a while now. I have missed it but didn't realise how much.

This week was all about 'Paper Piecing' with none other than the queen of paper piecing herself.....Carole Janson. You can check out Carole's amazing creation here

I also had a lot fun with this technique

Firstly Happy Mother's Day to all us mothers out there!! I hope that you have had a truly lovely day. Me - well my day started nice and early (eeek) and whilst DH was merrily snoozing and snoring his little head off, I was up trying to explain to my darling cherubs why the cartoons were not on (yes it was too early for cartoons to have even started) and having major disagreements over breakfast choices - No chocolate easter eggs are not a suitable breakfast choice. I was taken out for lunch - to a family friendly restuarant of course, which was just lovely.

Scrapping wise - Last night I put the finishing touches on this layout 'Angel face' for this weeks chipboard highschool homework assignment over at Scrapping Outback.

This week was all about creating 'the metal look' and I must say that I just LOVE this technique. Very grungy and Yes messy indeed but the effect is just fantastic. I was also able to adapt the technique to suit my more feminine theme

I also managed to incorporate techniques learnt in week 1 for my 'angel' title

and some hidden journalling

I also had a play with photo editing for the photo of Eloise. First I changed the photo to a vintage look which I did myself in different layers. Then I applied a Coffee Shop PSE action 'Honey Retro' afer FINALLY working out how to load actions to PSE.
