Is now LIVE!!

Journalling Criteria/Theme:

All About Me!

The focus of your journalling and the theme of your layout has to be based on YOU and something/s that you are really good at. Don't be shy! We are all good at something as small or as big as it might be.

Ideas for journallingbeing a good mum, cooking, talking, understanding people, organising, cleaning, gardening, studying, computers, fashion, exercising, scrapbooking, good at my job, maths, languages, writing , drawing, painting, photography, running, craft, sewing. Maybe you can talk about an aspect of your personality..your sensitivity, your 6th sense, your patience, your strength or bravery, your ability to stay positive.

Remember that you are allowed to also create a card or altered project based on this sketch and theme and instead of the journalling criteria you need to use a quote.

You MUST combine the journalling criteria with this sketch..

We haven't had a one yet this year and the new sleds and gear look forlorn waiting for a glimpse of some flakes!

Designer Kristen Swain has the perfect way to put a sparkle in your eye and bring a bit of winter inside. Little Yellow Bicycle's Winter Twig collection makes for the perfect collection! And notice how Kristen used an empty ribbon spool for the base! What a great way to recycle and reuse!!

Prima: Altered Poppy Album

A little while back I shared a little peek at an altered Donna Downey Poppy album.
It was also one of my Prima CHA projects that I sent over for the show.

The cover already came printed with pretty poppies which I did subdue a little with a wash of Ranger Multi Medium and Gesso.
Some masking was added over the top.  I used one of the new Prima Masks with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists - Turquoise Blue, Bubblegum Pink and Sun Sisters.

Ranger Gesso was used to alter the felt flowers and Acrylic Paint Dabber for the Metal 'Love' Trinket.  Turquoise Blue Glimmer Mist was added over the top as well as to the edges of the journal note peeking out from under the photo.

Now for a little look inside

The canvas pages are double thickness with a machine stitched edged.  They are durable and provide the perfect foundation for mediums.

The masked theme was continued throughout the pages of the album.

Resist Canvas elements feature and 12 x 12  Donna Downey canvas page that features poppies.
Poppies were hand cut and feature as embellishments for some of the pages.

White Cardstock was coloured with Ingvild Bolme's 'Rose Bud'
Quick Dry Fluid Chalk Ink.

An assortment of gorgeous blooms feature:
Lucerne, Camille, Vinetta, Perle Bebe, Charme Roses and Essential Petals

Pankita Rose, Tivona and Primmers

Along with Felt

Bows and assorted flowers
With Donna Downey Scuplture Flowers

And  type set words from Fairy Belle Alphabet Stickers create the sentiments.

I had so much fun putting this together.
Thanks so much for peeking!

Create Warm Memories with GlueArts Adhesives!

We're creating more memories today!

We're back this week with the beautiful Little Yellow Bicycle Winter Twig collection! And while it's perfect for winter memories, cards, home decor and more...it's also great for a multitude of themes!

Last week here on the GlueArts blog we showed just how diverse this collection is! Don't miss a day this week and also for more chances to win!
Warm Memories Card
GlueArts Designer: Patti Milazzo
Supply List:

U-Cut-It Adhesive Foam
Raise ‘Ns
Extreme Micro Adhesive Squares
Spooled Ribbon Adhesive

Little Yellow Bicycle:
Winter Twig Pattern Paper – Winter Wishful & Winter Twig
Winter Twig 6 x6 Decorative Edge Cardstock
Winter Twig Embellishments – Chipboard Shapes & Paper Snowflake Kit
Winter Twig Stickers – Cardstock Stickers, Free Verse Stickers and 5 Things Envelopes
Other:

Instructions:
1. Create a 5 x 7 card and cut pattern paper to fit the front. Adhere a circle 6 x 6 Decorative Edge Cardstock shape to the top front of the card using the Glue Glider Pro and Pro+ Perma Tac Adhesive. Cut a 1 ½ “ pattern paper strip, trim the ends and adhere near the center of the circle. Also adhere the large paper snowflake (kit) near the top left.

2. Use Raise ‘Ns to adhere the Chipboard Shape character.
Tip: To cut Raise ‘Ns, leave the paper backing and acetate top in place. Then simply snip the Raise ‘Ns into halves or even quarters for smaller pieces without gumming up your scissors.

3. For the layered snowflake accent on the right – apply the intricate snowflake die cut (kit) to the dark blue snowflake die cut (kit) with a Micro Adhesive Square that’s been folded in half.

4. Then for the top layer of the snowflake, insert a brad into the center of a blue snowflake sticker and secure the prongs. Press a Micro Adhesive Square on top of the brad and press this into glitter.

5. Apply a piece of U-Cut-It Adhesive Foam to the back of the top snowflake sticker and press onto the piece from Step 3. Adhere this to the right side of the card with the Glue Glider Pro.

6. I added flocked stripes to the “Warm Memories” sticker and to the bottom of my card using Ribbon Adhesive. To do this, trim Ribbon Adhesive lengths a bit longer than the sticker/card and press onto the surface firmly and evenly. Trim any excess and remove backing. Then sprinkle on flocking material. Spread it over the adhesive strips and rub in a bit. Finally, remove any excess by tapping it off.

Tip: Use the plastic edge of the Ribbon Adhesive backing as a guide to keep your line straight. On the sticker, I lined up the plastic edge backing along the bottom and top of the sticker. For the bottom of my card, I lined up the backing edge with the bottom of the card for the first strip. Then removed this backing and applied another strip of Ribbon Adhesive slightly higher by lining up the second pieces backing edge with the previous adhesive line.

7. Apply a piece of U-Cut-It Adhesive Foam to the back of the “Warm Memories” sticker and press onto the card between the character and snowflake accent.

8. Add additional pennant stickers and snowflake accents to complete the card.

Love this! Patti used a wide variety of our GlueArts Adhesives to create this cutie! Which is why if you're already using our Glue Gldier PRO and new PRO+ cartridge it's time to step out and try our Adhesive Squares or our U Cut It Foam!

This week we'd like to give you a chance to some new products!(possibly new to you!) Post a comment and we'll enter you to win

Prima: Inspired by Almanac

Today, I have a couple of smaller projects to share.

First up a fun little activity for the Prima DT gals where we each created an ATC for someone else on the team.

Here is what I created

I first started with one of these little canvases which measure at 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" .
They will take any art medium or embellishment. They are also double thickness and seam edged which makes them really easy to alter.

Donna2jpg

Tattered Angels Vintage Pink Glimmer Mist was used to alter mine.
Layers of Almanac loveliness were then added with a little pull out Donna Downey Mini Grey and White Tag that included my message

'You Inspired Me'

A Petal Pin adds a pretty decorative touch.

Products:
  • 921998 Canvas ATCs
  • 844134 Almanac Col. Edison
  • 844158 Almanac Col. Agenda
  • 556211 Vinetta – Almanac
  • 556709 Petal Pins – Pearls
  • 921873 Paper Tag Set – Grey and White
  • 554330 Typeset – Fairy Belle

Next, I have a project which features these little beauties

Art Tiles

TilesB

They are light weight with patterns on both sides which co ordinate with each of the Prima paper lines. Each one is a delightful mini piece of art work.

I also found that they are a great way for adding a touch of uniqueness.

Here I used them along with Genie Stones to make them into wearable 'art'.

The Art Tiles featured are Prima Almanac.
The tiles were adhered to a decorative finding with Ranger Multi Medium.
Glass bi cones and Prima Genie Stones were then added to complete the customization.

Products:

  • #556693 Genie Stones – Black Wrap
  • #554590 Art Tiles – Almanac
  • Ranger Multi Medium Gloss
