Steampunk Twiddley Style

Hello!

O.K I think that I am making it back to the land of the living.  The last couple of weeks has seen me struck down with a particularly nasty virus - thank you to my darling husband for sharing this with me.. ummm not.  He managed to infect the whole house and for a while there all 4 of us were in a bad way.  Anyway, we are finally vertical after spending a few days as total bed rest - doctor's orders... seriously couldn't have got up even if I had wanted to.

Just before I went away to Brisbane, I shared a little peek at one of the projects I had been working on for Twiddleybitz.  If you happened to visit the Twiddleybitz booth over the Queen's birthday weekend at the Brisbane Papercrafting Expo you may have seen this one.

'Destination'

Lots of Twiddley on this one including:

SB12001 Shadow Box 12" x 12"
BAL001 Balloon Large
BAL002 Balloon Small
SPK002 Flying Butterfly Clock - Steam
SPK009 Steam Punk Blossom
SPK011 Boot Skate
SPK014 Light Bulb - Steam Punk
WOR044 Destination Word
FLOW007 Flower Flourish Vine
FLOW006 - Shoe Flourish Large
OV007 Diamond Overlay Single Photo
FLOW001 Passionfruit Flower
BUT003 Butterflies Assorted
VTG005 Vintage Keys (pk 4)

I started with a 12" x 12" Shadow Box which I have covered with Graphic 45 papers.
I wanted to focus on modes of flight and transport one may undertake in order to reach a 'destination'.  The inside the box has been embellished with an assortment of Twiddley 'transportation' components.
And lookie, not a pretty floral bloom in sight LOL!!

Thanks so much for dropping by,
Hugs,
Trudi

Twiddleybitz: Happy Travels

Bon Jour!!

A little easel project to share with you today.

If you happened to 'travel' to the Brisbane Papercrafting Expo over the last weekend you perhaps might have seen this one on display at the Twiddleybitz booth.

The easel I have used is the gorgeous Twiddleybitz MDF 6 x 6 Easel which I have inked with Prima Chalk Ink - Cold Ice.  A touch of Tin Can was also lightly applied in some areas.
How beautiful is the filigree background on the easel!
Patterned Paper elements from the Prima En Francais and Yuki collections were added to create the backdrop. I wanted to create a step out effect - lots of foam tape was used to add dimension.
Twiddleybitz Eiffel Tower, Paris Single Gate and Vintage Key were added along with an assortment of coordinating Prima Blooms - En Francais, Pixie Glenn and Godiva's are some of which are featured.
The Twiddleybitz Opening Gates were used to create a window box effect.
I used one of the frames and one of the filigree doors from the set - this tied in nicely with the background of the easel.
A Twiddleybitz Hot Air Balloon sits inside.
The balloon has been embellished with a Twiddleybitz banner which I have cut up, some more Prima blooms and paper banner strips.

Some Prima Last Shares....

Howdy,

Today I am sharing some last projects created as a member of the Prima 2011-2012 Design Team.
The year has gone by so quickly; seriously,  it only feels like yesterday when it all begun.  I have loved designing for Prima, and truly thank them from the bottom of my heart for everything.

It has been without a doubt, a truly wonderful experience which has been shared with such a great bunch of amazingly talented artists. I still pinch myself and will always be forever grateful for the 12 months I have had.
I am so honored and proud to have been part of the 2011-2012 Design Team.
Thank You Prima!

These projects, I had meant to showcase before I headed away last week, but it got rather busy and time slipped away from me.

First up I have my interpretation of the June Build-A-Page (BAP).

Totally **heart** the sketch - thanks so much Heidi xx

'GO'

I just adore this photo of Missy N running towards the camera.
I was inspired to create a pretty garden scene to tie in with the photo.  Love the bridge element in the photo.
Lots of Prima blooms, resist canvas, resin and shabby metal bring it all together.

Following is my interpretation of the June Product Pick & Palette (PPP)

I have taken inspiration from the palette for my creation.

'My Fair Lady'
I have combined Nature's Garden, A4 Ledgers and a touch of Pixie Glenn with an assortment of gorgeous blooms and shabby metal.
Lots of layering and fussy cut elements.

Finally, I have a layout previously not shown.

This one was created for Winter CHA 2012 and showcases the beautiful Sun Kiss Collection.  I adore this collection, it makes me smile as does my gorgeous girl.  She is my sunshine.

I added some masking to the background patterned paper - I used Glimmer Mists Turquoise Blue and Bubblegum Pink with a Prima mask.
A journal notecard frames the photo along with coordinating Sun Kiss blooms, vine and chipboard.
How sweet is the bike??

Thanks so much for dropping by

Till next time,
Hugs
T

My Creative Scrapbook Reveals

Hello!!

Earlier in the week, I shared some sneak peaks of my creations using the My Creative Scrapbook June Limited Edition Kit.
This kit ROCKS with Pink Paislee London Market and Prima Flowers.

Here is my first creation from this totally gorgeous kit.
Little girls have a magic all their own.

Everything you see is from the MCS June Limited Edition kit - oh except for the title sentiment and I used some white card for this.
I did get scissor happy with some fussy cutting
And layered it up with the fussy cut elements, London Market Ephemera, Prima Flowers and ribbon.
The Eiffel Tower and little tag element sitting on the bird cage were cut out from a couple of the tags which are part of the Ephemera pack.
Prima Flower Packaging was used to layer behind the photo.
How sweet are the London Market Spool Covers? - These are also part of the kit.  I have another project idea for these, but more about this later :)
***************
My second layout  has the gorgeous Pink Paislee London Market 'Royal Charm' paper for the base.
A larger banner/bunting  was created from patterned paper.

Pink Paislee packaging was also used - some behind the photo and the floral elements that sit on the crown were also cut from the same packaging.
The larger Prima bloom was altered with Tattered Angels Patina Glimmer Mist to coordinate.

A London Market Jumbo Number also features along with the crown from the Ephemera pack, a spool cover and  some more Prima Flowers.
***************

For my following project, I was inspired to create somewhat of a garden theme and wanted it to appear as if Miss E and Missy N were meandering their way through it.
I wonder how many butterflies they found?
Once again I got scissor happy - gosh these patterned papers are perfect for cutting out elements and so pretty.
I used one of the bases from the Twiddleybitz Opening Gates Set as a template to trace around to create the arch that sits behind the photo.  The removed middle insert created the open gate effect - I also removed the centre piece to leave a thin border all the around before attaching.

The Limited Edition Kit contains gorgeous Prima blooms - here are a few which I have clustered together.
I also incorporated some of the Prima flower packaging    - the sentiment banners were cut out from this.
*******************
For my final project reveal, this is perhaps a little different to my 'usual thing' but just the same, still had lots of fun putting it together.
I wanted to make the London Market Jumbo Numbers a feature and have overlapped a number series along one side of the photo.
I again have incorporated some of the Pink Paislee packaging and included travel elements to tie in with the 'world' theme.
Totally **heart** these gorgeous Prima blooms.

I loved working with this kit and thank Pam and My Creative Scrapbook for the wonderful opportunity of Guest Designing this month and last.

Before I sign off this post, I must also tell you about the fantastic contest that My Creative Scrapbook are running at the moment.

Feast your eyes on the grand prize
