Kaisercraft August Sketch # 4

Saturday Greetings Everyone!

Another fabulous sketch has gone up on the Kaiser BLOG this morning.

Today's sketch has been inspired by the layout 'A good book' as seen in the current Kaisercraft Workshop Magazine.

Here is my take on it:

A Carnival of Happiness

I had lots of fun with colour and the Save The Date collection.  The sketch was rotated to give it a different look.
Some girly fun was added with Ribbon Roses and a few sparklets
And some twisty fun with some curled strips of patterned paper.

Deconstruct to Recreate!

At CHA (Craft & Hobby Association) this last July for the Summer Show held in Rosemont, Illinois near Chicago, we sponsored a delightful workshop taught by Candy Rosenberg showing how to deconstruct a mixed media album and recreate it into a home decor card station.  Only 50 lucky students got the chance to take this one at the show, it sold out within minutes.  It was wonderful to meet all of the women and men that attended, we had such a phenomenal time with you!

Visit Candy Rosenberg's blog at www.LivingTheAlteredLife.comand to keep tabs on her teaching schedule using GlueArts products.

Kaisercraft...Save the Date

The SAVE THE DATE collection is a happy infusion of bright colours and fun elements.  Perfect for scrapping our celebratory moments and is available in stores now.

Here are a couple of projects I have completed with this super collection

Layout - Hip Hip Hooray!

The large number 5 element was created in Microsoft word, printed and cut out and sits under the photo.
For embellishing - Fun elements including the balloons, pin wheel and banners were cut from the patterned papers
Along with some paper rosettes, ribbon strips and hot air balloon

Next , a little something for the 'young at heart'?
Card - '30'

I have combined papers from the paper pad with a few pennants, a collectable sentiment and embossed balloon image - I used an embossing folder from my stash for this. A little flag was created by attaching a flag sticker to a tooth pick.  A sticker from the sticker sheet and a collectables quote made it quick and easy to add celebratory sentiments.

The Save the Date Collection can be viewed in it's entirety HERE

Kaisercraft...Sears and Sons

With Father's Day fast approaching, the new Kaisercraft SEARS AND SONS Collection it is perfect for the boys and big boys in our lives.

First up a card to share

Something for Miss E and Missy N to give their Daddy on his special day

Kaisercraft Products: P898 Sidecar, P899 Pocket Watch, CT720 Collectables
A photo was added to the front of the card taken recently to add a touch of sentimentality.

I have also created a layout. Although this collection is quite masculine, it was still well suited for this moment captured of my two girls.  Coincidentally, it would be Father's Day last year when it was taken.
Kaisercraft Products:
Sears & Son – P892 Bowler Hat, P894 Charming, P896 Trilby, PS129 Icons Specialty Gloss, CS839 Clear Stamps, PP874 Paper Pad, CT720 Collectables
Miss E and Missy N absolutely love the Dr. Seuss books and I came across this great quote which I have incorporated into the layout

"Today you are You, that is truer than true, There is no one alive who is Youer than You" Dr.Seuss

Lots of patterned paper ribbon strips have been layered with die cut, hand cut and collectable elements.
A large decorative die cut was created with the 'Trilby' patterned paper and a WRMK punch.

The Sears and Sons collection is available in stores now.

Thanks so much for dropping by,

I'll be back soon with some more projects to share

The Need to Know on the GlueGlider PRO

Recently, you may have noticed our GlueGlider PRO cartridges come in a variety of colors. So you ask, what is the difference? Glide-ability!

Our new purple PRO+ cartridge refill has been engineered with an enhanced glide-ability mechanism, allowing for a quicker and easier adhesive experience. Don't let this cosmetic change discourage you, all colors of the GlueGlider PRO cartridge refills are designed to fit the same original gun handle.

You can find the new purple PRO+ cartridge at select retail locations as well as www.gluearts.com. Although we no longer manufacture the original pink PRO cartridge, you can still purchase the pink and green cartridge refills at most local retail locations. Click to view a list of some of our online and storefront retailers.

Craft Wars...did you see the GlueGlider PRO?

Okay by now you've all heard us talking about Craft Wars and the anticipation of the GlueGlider PRO on the show. Well we've finally seen it! Watch the clip below and let us know if you can see it.

Many times we've seen these crafters use the hot glue gun with little ease and a whole lot of mess. Which GlueArts products would you have recommended they use instead? We can't wait to read your suggestions ;)

The ScrapCake: Come 'N' Play & a little makeover....

I have to say that the new The ScrapCake ‘Sweet Childhood’collection is just as sweet as!

I just adore the softer colors and super cute icons and had lots of fun creating this sweet card.

With two girls, one preschool and low grade school level, we are always busy with ‘play dates’.  At the moment, there does not seem to be a week that goes by without a play date invitation.  They have a much busier social life than I do.  I have created this little ‘Come ‘N’ Play card for the next ‘very important’ play date invitation that has to be given out.  I have combined papers from the Paper Pad and elements from the Die Cut Set for creating my card.

Check out the full collection HERE

Also I have to give a huge shout out to Em Stafrace!!   Check out her Little by Little site, Em is the creative mastermind of my blog looking as it does now.  Can I just say that this gal is amazing.  Thanks so much Em, totally **heart** what you have done xx

The ScrapCake - 'Remember this beautiful day'

My fellow The ScrapCake Design Team Member Renia Ludwinska and I had lots of fun swapping photo's for our recent blog post.  We both came out from behind the camera for the occassion.

Renia sent me this beautiful photo of herself, I hope that I did it justice.

The background and decorative punched die cut are papers from the One Moment In Time collection and all of the fussy cut elements are from the My Private Happiness collection.
The sentiment quote was appropriate for Renia's day.

Pretty Manor House flowers add a touch of girly sweetness - Here I have combined Darling, Plain Janes and petite roses together.

Swapping photo's is fun, perhaps you should try it yourself some time.

Thanks so much for dropping by

Me & You

Twiddleybitz recently held a 'Scrap My Photo' competition where the design team each scrapped a photo from a list of lucky recipients who entered.  I had the both the pleasure and extreme honour of scrapping this page for Brenda McKay from New Zealand.

The Twiddleybitz word 'Me & You was the perfect title and 'Cherish the time spent together'.... was the perfect sentiment for this beautiful photo of Brenda with her grandson.
A Twiddleybitz 'Vintage Overlay' and 'Long Flourish' were incorporated with lots of pretty hand cut elements from Webster's Pages Yacht Club papers, Kaisercraft Sweet Nothings Die Cut and a medley of Prima Flowers.   The photo shows the sea in the background and I felt that the colours and theme of the Webster's Pages papers were a great match.
May Brenda enjoy her page just as much as I did putting it together for her.

Till next time,

xx T

Sharing a little Attitude....

... That is of the Kaiser variety.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Here are a few projects that I have completed recently with the Kaiser Attitude! collection.  The full range can be seen HERE.

First up I have a layout to share

'Little Miss Attitude'

I wanted to show the versatility of the collection by scrapping a photo of 'Miss E'. Here she is pulling her ‘tough, don’t mess with me’  look – we are getting this look quite a bit at the moment, so it must be a stage that she is going through.
Although this collection is quite masculine, I did really like the grunge factor of it.  I felt like I had crossed over to the 'other side' as many of my creations can be quite girly and pretty.  The Attitude! collection, I found more than suitable for scrapping this photo of my ‘Miss E’.
The pink in the photo worked well as a contrast against the dark toning of the range. Some subtle misting was added to the background with Black Chalkboard Mist, Lippy Luscious Colour Spray and a cogs 12 x 12 mask.
A‘grungy’ flower was made by punching out some floral shapes and layering them up - I used a 6 petal and Floriana flower punches for the creation of the flower.

Kaisercraft Products:
Attitude! – P884 Individual, P886 Dude, P890 Wicked; SS141 Sticker Sheet, PP873 Paper Pad, CT719 Collectables; FL432 Flourish Pack/Floral; FL432 Flourish Pack/Large Flower; RS409 Sparklets Ebony; RB909 Rubons/Laugh
********************
I was also inspired by the Attitude collection to create a ‘grunge’piece of wall art for my next project.
Butterfly Wall Art

I started with the Kaisercraft Butterfly Silhouette Wall Art and first applied Gesso liberally to the top piece.  I wasn’t particularly careful with the application, just really sort of slapped it on.
To add some texture and to ‘rough it up’ a bit, areas were stippled.  Some stamping was added around the edges – I used the Kaiser grunge stamp for this with Kaiser bark and black inks.  Glimmer mist and colour spray were then applied over the top.  The silhouette butterfly edges were inked black to add definition.
A pearl flourish, acetate accents (cut from the 'Gypsy Acetate) and a sprinkling of punched butterflies finish it off.

Kaisercraft Products:
Attitude! PP873 Paper Pad, P885 Rebel; Miss Match SS140 Sticker Sheet; PS175 Acetate/Gypsy PL514 Flourish Classic/ Black;  CS756 Clear Stamp/Grunge, IP719 Small Ink Pad/Black, IP724 Small Ink Pad/Bark; RB905 Rub ons/Journey; RG409 Sparklets/Ebony; SB2171 Butterfly Silhouette Wall Art.
********************
For my last project share, I have created an easel type card from cardstock with some of the Attitude patterned paper attached over   the top.
The 'collectables' make it easy to add a touch of flair to any card.  Here I have combined a few of these elements along with some hand cut patterned paper elements.  They have been arranged and layered to create the front decoration.  To add dimension,  some of the elements were attached with 3D foam tape.

Kaisercraft Products:
Attitude P891 What’s Up?, P890 Wicked, P887 Whatever, P873 Paper Pad. CT719 Collectables
