365 Days - 'Merry Christmas'

Getting into the festive spirit today with a layout share created with the Kaiser 365 Days collection.  One of the great things that you can do with this range is create your own unique calendar.  The soft colours make it very adaptable for creating a year long journey through happy memories, seasons and celebratory occasssions.

My month was December and this is what I came up with

Just love the pretty blue combined with the pinks.
I layered lots of die cut, punched and hand cut elements with 365 Days Stickers,  pretty paper blooms - hot pink and fuchsia and shabby ribbon roses in fairy floss.
**A Quick tip**
The numbered paper strips along the bottom of the 12"x 12" papers are perfect for numbering the days of the month.  Run a strip of double sided tape along the back, trim the numbers individually, remove the backing of the adhesive tape and stick down.

I call him Dad...

Hi There Everyone,

Today I have a Publication project to share that is more on the 'masculine' side.

This was a project that was featured in the Australian magazine Scrapbook Creations. The issue also coincided with Father's Day here in Australia.  This tender moment captured of my Miss E with her Daddy was the perfect choice.

'I call him Dad' as seen in Scrapbook Creations Issue #95.
Darker colours feature along with turquoise blue and a splash of yellow for contrast.  The patterned papers were not overly fussy in design. Glitz Design was combined with a touch of MME and a big  butterfly was cut from Bo Bunny paper.

Twiddleybitz chipboard elements were layered over the top of the butterfly to add a touch of grunge texture.

Featured are Twiddleybitz -

I had lots of fun altering the chipboard - I used a combination of inks, colour sprays and a sprinkling of diamond dust.
A few Prima Metallic Flowers (also altered) along with MME brads and bling add a touch of masculine 'sweetness'.

It's been a while since I have worked with these tonings and 'style', but as they say change is good as is being creatively stretched. It is perhaps not a style that I venture to often, but with saying this, did enjoy the process of putting this one together.

Till next time,

Sassy Scrapper - GDT Reveal #2

I have been having some more fun 'glitzing' for SASSY SCRAPPER this month. Here is my second creation with the gorgeous Glitz Design Cashmere Dame collection which is available in the store HERE.

Black Kaisercraft cardstock adds contrast to the bright colours and makes them 'pop'.
A few Prima Rosarian Perles  were added with some paper rosettes and Pink Paislee Artisan butterfly elements.  I spritzed these with Heidi Swapp Mustard Colour Shine - gosh I totally **heart** these sprays.  I have been having lots of fun with them lately, the iridescent colours are just gorgeous.  They are also available in the Sassy Scrapper store HERE and Olga has all the colours available.
Cashmere Dame paper garlands were layered with coordinating paper strips behind the photo.  A touch of misting was added with a Twiddleybitz Chevron mask and some Tattered Angels Chalkboard Black and Turquoise Blue Glimmer Mist.

A Twiddleybitz FRA018 Circle Doyle Frame was inked black and a large leaf flourish and balloon were die cut from black cardstock.

The Glitz Gathered Crepe adds fun and texture –I attached it to the back of a large cut circle element to create a ruffled border effect.

For the birthday girl...

The Kaisercraft Butterfly Kisses collection was perfect for creating something 'beautiful, gorgeous and pretty'....

Just what every birthday girl wants for her special day.

A special party hat
The template for the party hat was created by tracing around a hat that I had here.  An alternative is to trace around a dinner plate, cut out and remove a quadrant. Then wrap/fold around to form a cone shape and secure with double sided tape/glue.
Sea Breeze Ribbon Roses coordinate beautifully with this collection.

A Loot Box
Similarly to the party hat, create a template for the loot box by tracing around an existing one.  Score where the box folds to create nice crisp fold lines.  These can also be easily personalised with a name.
Large Pin Wheels created from coordinating patterned papers embellish the box along with some paper ribbon curls.

And a 'sweet' party decoration

Sweet wishes to the birthday girl!

'Embrace' Butterfly Kisses

I do 'Love me some colour'. Gosh, how totally smitten did I become with the bright infusion of happy colour with Kaiser's Butterfly Kisses Collection.  You can't help but smile when you work with this one. The colours are super fun and the elements so super cute!

To make the colours 'pop' I added a neutral cardstock background.  I added this over some patterned paper so that just a splash of colour peeks around the outside edges.

Thin strips from a few papers from the Butterfly Kisses Paper Pad were layered behind the photo.

Layered Chipboard elements combined with an assortment of the collectables elements embellish this sweet moment captured of my young niece and nephew.

Manor House Creations - All Dressed up

For Spring with the NEW Manor House Spring Collection.

When I think of Spring, instantly pretty blossoms and flowers come to mind.  The new Manor House Spring collection beckoned me to do some more 'dressing up'.  I just had to make something girly and pink and here 'she' is...
A dress corsage was created with a beautiful Lotus bloom as the feature.
Pretty pink glitter roses and leaves were made into a vine and trail down the side. A touch of gesso to the leaves softens and adds a little shabbiness.  Pink Celeste blooms are tucked into the mix.
Another Celeste bloom finishes the back off. A Starlight flower adds a touch of elegance to the dress from shoulder.
Another vine is created with leaves and Mini Pink Dahlias and wrapped around the base.  A stamped image and some shabby resin finish it off.

Dream

I just adore the Kaisercraft Periwinkle collection.  It was hard to not become smitten with the beautful soft colours, decorative frames, birds, balloons and foliage.  One of my favourite elements of this collection are the Collectables and the architectural elements - especially the frames.  A few of these have been incorporated in the design on my page.
I punched around the edge of the 'Dawn' patterned paper with a WRMK punch - just love the large decorative die cut this creates.
A little altering to the lighter side of the punched page was done first with some masking and glimmer mist.  When this was dry, clear stamps with some texture paste and inks in vintage and turquoise were then stamped over the top.
A rose leaf wooden flourish was layered with Periwinkle collectables and just a few sweet blooms - Sage and Honey coordinate beautifully as do the wooden flourishes left in their natural state.
A decorative border punch was used to 'dress' up the wooden flourish mannequin.
