A Joyful Heart

I had 'A Joyful Heart' indeed when I put together this project featuring the gorgeous Kaiser Secret Admirer collection.

The Shadow Box is a  12" x 12" size by Twiddleybitz:

The sides of the box were covered with coordinating papers - 'Flirtatious' for the front pieces and the reverse side of 'Flame' for the sides.  The back piece is this 'Mystical' beauty:

With the large decorative frame element from this 'Sweetheart' paper
Attached over the top.
One of these Kaiser BTP Standing Birds
And perches on the front of the shadow box.

White Gesso was first  used to alter the bird.  A stippled finish along with some Twiddleybitz Plastic Shards- (like Twinklets Diamond Dust but not as sparkly) adds some texture and a touch of shabby appeal.  The variegated colour finish was achieved with Heidi Swapp Color Shine - Primrose and Georgia Peach and Turquoise Blue Glimmer Mist.  Prima Dasmask Teal Ink was used on the edges and some areas of the bird's body to add a little definition.
A corsage decorates the bird - this consists of a few twigs from the garden (also painted with a little white gesso), some Fussy Cut and Secret Admirer Collectable Doily and Icon elements, a few Kaiser Posies  and some ribbon ties it altogether.

The Secret Admirer papers have so many wonderful elements that can be fussy cut for a scissor happy gal like myself. A few of these fussy cut elements have been attached to the in sides of the shadow box and behind the standing bird to add depth and dimension.

The large floral element from the Humble paper was incorporated
Along with some floral elements from the Luscious Gloss Specialty Die Cut
And a few smaller elements fussy cut from some of the papers contained in the Secret Admirer Paper Pad.

A bunting was created with a few of the doily elements which were folded over a length of ribbon. They were sealed closed with a little glue.

Cherish Your Dreams

Saturday Greetings Everyone!

Anyone feeling sketchy?  There's another terrific one to have a go at on the Kaiser Blog today.

This is my take on the sketch using the gorgeous December Release Forget- Me- Not Collection:
And this is the sketch that my layout was based on:
I rotated the sketch so that the photo's run vertically rather than horizontally as they do in the original sketch orientation.

The background consists of the 12" x 12" Bee-Hive Acetate Sheet over the top of the reverse side of the 'Corsage' patterned paper.  Fussy cut elements were layered with Forget-Me-Knot floral sticker elements and a few blooms.  Some more stickers add some sentiment prompts and a Collectable element creates a title.

Altered 'Live' Canvas

Something colourful and a little pretty to share with you today.

This is an altered canvas which I created a little while back for the Tuesday Tip on the Kaiser blog.
It features a bit of mix media work using one of the new Kaiser 6" x 6" Flower Template, Heidi Swapp Color Shine - Mint Green, Georgia Peach, Primrose and Mustard, Turquoise Blue Glimmer Mist, Gesso, and a little stamping.

Embellishing was done with some Secret Admirer Icon Collectables, Paper Blooms and Mini Paper Blooms.
A touch of acetate - design elements from the 12 x 12 Secret Garden were fussy cut and laid directly over the top of the altered canvas before Collectable elements and blooms were added.

A few black rub-on's were added to the background and for the title and sentiment.

Love, Simple Pleasures and Happy Memories...

Hi Everyone,
Greetings and thanks so much for dropping by.

Kicking off today's inspiration with some easel card creations. I really enjoy making this concept of card.  The design is well suited for layering up.

First up is one created with the Kaiser Secret Admirer collection.  As you might have already guessed,  I absolutely adore this collection.  The girl in me is totally satisfied with doilies, buntings, birdcages and flowers, the colours both beautiful and bold.
The easel card base was created using the largest hexagon from a Spellbinders set.
Fussy cut elements were combined with collectables and a few flowers to create a layered effect.

Next, another easel arrangement, this time created with the equally beautiful Kaiser Forget-me-Not collection.  The colours are delicate and a touch shabby vintage with wonderful hexagon, bee and floral elements.

This was created with a friend in mind:

This time, a large Scalloped Rectangle from a Spellbinders set was used to create the base of the easel card.
Some doily heart elements from the Secret Admirer Collectables were combined with Forget-Me-Knot elements and pretty paper blooms.
Sage and Fairy Floss flowers were lightly spritzed with glimmer mist to coordinate.

Lastly something a little summery created with the Kaiser Tropicana Collection.  This collection takes you on a tropical adventure with its gorgeous colours and beautiful hibiscus elements.

A decorative doily was used from a Spellbinders set to create the base of the easel card.  Fussy cut elements were combined with a photo to create a beautiful 'happy memory'.

All creatures great and small...

Hello!!

I have a layout to share created with the beautiful Kaiser Forget-Me-Not collection. This is another one of my favourite NEW releases and one hard to forget.  The toning is quite subtle, a touch of vintage floral, the elements divine.  The trend for shapes is still quite popular at the moment, especially hexagons.  This collection touches on these elements.  Once again there is a fabulous 12 x 12 specialty sheet 'Bee Hive' for those who love the look of acetate.

The background of my layout consists of the papers Honeycomb, Royal and Corsage which have been layered over the top of each other.  A little tip is to remove the centres of the papers that are sitting underneath each other. This minimizes waste and maximizes usage.  A larger decorative die cut from the Royal paper was created with circle and punching around the edge with a Martha Steward corner punch.
Hexagons were die cut with papers from the Paper Pad and arranged over the top of the decorative die cut.  A few of hexagon border stickers were added over the top.

Forget- Me- Not Collectables were layered with fussy cut elements, a few more stickers and paper blooms - Coral and Ice Berg coordinate beautifully.

A collectable 'love' sentiment and some heart doilies from the Secret Admirer Collectables pack finish it off.

Follow Your Heart

The Secret Admirer collection would have to be one of my all time favourite Kaiser releases.  Totally heart everything about this gorgeous collection.
I did venture to my happy, girly place when I put this one together.
I wanted it to look like Miss E and Missy N were meandering through a beautiful garden:
A little backrgound work was done to the base patterned paper.
I started with the reverse side of the 'Demure' paper:

And used the doily stamp from the clear stamp set with a mixture of gesso and impasto paste (mixed together first) to add a bit of texture.  Once dried, areas were misted with Heidi Swapp Colour Shine Primrose and Georgia Peach, Key Lime Pie Glimmer Mist and a touch of Water Cooler Mister Huey's Color Mist. A little white gesso was applied randomly over the top with a piece of stiff cardboard.

Doily elements cut from the 'Coy' paper

Were layered with doilies from the Collectables pack.  The large frame element was fussy cut from the 'Sweetheart' paper and this was positioned to sit behind the photo to create a garden arch or gazebo effect.
Pretty paper blooms add to the 'garden effect':
Sea Breeze, Coral, Buttercream and Sage were clustered together.  The tips were lightly touched with gesso
Floral fussy cut elements create a lovely garden bed for the paper blooms to rest upon.
A few heart doilies, a sentiment and sweet push bike from the Collectables pack finish it off.

Tropicana - 'Eyes on the job Rhonda'

Hello!!

Most of us Aussies are probably quite familiar with story of Rhonda from the AAMI insurance advertisements and the saying from the earlier add of 'Eyes on the road Rhonda'. Rhonda's story continues and in the latest advertisements Rhonda has been on trip to Bali.  I've never been Bali myself but I imagine it to be tropical.  The Kaiser Tropicana collection took me there with its lush colours, palm trees, beach elements and beautiful hibiscus flowers.
I combined patterned papers, fussy cut and collectable elements with a little acetate and some 'Rhonda' inspiration for my title to come up with this:

A little beach hut was created from coordinating papers and sits nestled amongst a tropical oasis - fussy cut hibiscus and collectables feature.

One of these beauties - 12 x 12 Beach Acetate Sheet:
Was cut up and the palm tree elements layered  behind the photo and in amongst the other elements.
A fussy cut umbrella provides a little shade protection for the sand sculpture workers.
