Candle Votive

Instructions-

1. Fill glass with layer of Flake Snow.

2. Use coffee lid and hot glue figurines around lid, place inside wine glass.

 3. Hot Glue stems onto front of glass.

4. Tie bow with Crinkled Ribbon, then adhere to front of stems, then adhere three bells to center of ribbon bow, using hot glue for all.

5. Light candle and enjoy.

Oh Dear......

.....is it that time of the year already!  The last few weeks... O.K months have passed in some what of a blur and the next few will be more of the same I think.   

We were very brave and ventured to the shopping centre last weekend.  The mission was a photo with the man wearing the red suit .  The last couple of years have been somewhat of a hit and a miss for this with the girls taking turn about with the Christmas Pout... O.K lets be honest - hysterical screaming scene when it comes to actually sitting on the knee of the man with the red suit.

Anyway, even after waiting  for 1 1/2 hours

.... it was smiles all round this year...

Speaking of scrappy things - I'll end my post with a layout share created for the December PRIMA Build-A-Page which is now up on the Prima BLOG. 

This is my take on the sketch 

'Oh Dear'

Let's just say that Miss N was far from happy about having her photo taken in this instance.... but I think the photo adorable nevertheless. 

I had lots of fun with the North Country Collection and Ledger papers which I combined with an assortment of Prima older and newer blooms and vines to create a 'Winter Wonderland' effect.  In Australia,our Christmas's are often hot, a white Christmas is something that yours truly can only dream about - creating a winter wonderland effect is the closest I will get to a 'white' Christmas LOL!!.

  

I hand cut a tree and deer elements from patterned paper and sat them amongst the blooms.  

Some super cute Resin Mushrooms also pop up and to add a touch of shimmer, some diamond stickles was added to the tops of them.

Countdown to Santa

That's right!

We're officially counting the days in our house until Santa arrives! And our calendar shows...just 20 yes...20 more days until Santa arrives.

Designer Patti Milazzo has a fun and unique project to help you and your family count down until the man in red arrives at your home! GlueArts Accent It All makes the perfect way to create this and ensure durability as well!

Countdown to Santa

Other: 4x6 acrylic frame; 18 – 20 guage craft/floral wire, wire cutters, pliers, holiday pattern paper and stickers

Instructions:

1. Remove any protective film that may cover the frame. Cut Red Accent It All to fit the front of the acrylic frame – a bit longer to overlap the top and bottom is ideal. With the White Accent it All create a scalloped strip for the center of the frame. Punch/Cut a buckle from the Silver Accent it All. I used a square punch and trimmed around it, then used a small rectangle punch for the silver “prong”.

2. Remove just the top portion of the backing on the Red Accent It All. Overlap the top of the frame a bit and then carefully apply it to the rest of the frame – peeling back the remainder of the backing and smoothing as you go to avoid any air bubbles. Next, add the white scalloped strip and the black belt - again smoothing as you apply the strip. Don’t worry if the scallop shape shows through the black a bit – the buckle will cover that up.

3. For the buckle, do not remove the backing. Instead use the Glue Glider Pro with Perma Tac Pro+ Adhesive and affix the buck to the front center of the belt. Do the same to the silver “prong”. 

4. With a 8” piece of craft/floral wire, fold it in half to create “V”. Turn that upside down “^” and bend each side to eventually make the shape into a “W”. From this fashion a 2 “hooked” hanger for the tags – the back should fold over the top of the frame where it will be glued and there won’t be any sharp points. Adjust the width between the curled hooks as needed.

5. Next, hot glue the back of the wire to the frame with the Glue Gun.

6. Punch/Cut tags to fit on the hooks – you’ll need 3 tags for the left prong (a blank one, then the numbers 1 & 2); for the right prong you’ll need 10 tags (0-9). I used number stickers for the tag on my project. 

7. Finally, create an embellished accent for the top – this will also hide where the wire curves around the top of the frame. 

How fun is that! And this is a craft that kids can absolutely help! Or better yet...give them supplies and letthem great and design their own! This could also be made for a birthday countdown, vacation countdown...so many possibilities!

We're Going Green At GlueArts for the Holidays!

If ever there was a good holiday to go green...Christmas would be the one!

After all Christmas is filled with boxes, papers, tissues, plastics, packaging and that not even to mention all the containers and more we use for our holiday cooking!

Designer Ania Lexander took one of our GlueArts Glue Glider Pro cartridge packages and repurposed it into a fantastic way to give a special treat or gift this holiday season!!

Recycle Reuse for Holiday Packaging

Supplies:
An empty plastic package (from the 2-pack or 3-pack of Glue Glider PRO cartridges)
Glue Glider PRO - High Tac
GlueArts Raisen's

Other: Simple Stories collection pack

 Gather your materials, including the empty plastic package.

 Remove the paper from inside the box and measure it.

 Cut your background.

 Adhere simple embellishments using high tac or raisen's.

Admire your box =)

Suggestions to contents:

- Wrapped cookies

- Christmas tree decorations

- Wrapped chocolate

- Felted embellishments

- an assortment scrapbook embellishments

- glue arts cartridges =)

Suggestions to decorations:

- Use Accent it all and your die cut machine of choice to decorate the plastic box on the outside

- Use a wide ribbon and wrap a nice bow around the box

- Add your text on the backside of the paper - as the box is see through the recipient will be able to read who it's for without opening the box.

Linda has taken was was a wood block, some paper and embellishments, GlueArts Adhesives (of course!) and infused it with such beauty....we're speechless! Truly!

"Peace & Joy" Angel

Supplies:

Other: 

Snowflake brads, 6"x4"x2" wood block, silver pipe cleaners, silver wire,silver glitter, Mica Flakes, seam binding ribbon, button, acrylic paints, Acrylic stamps(snowflake and seasonal greeting), Brown ink pad, Cream cotton lace, small wood knob

Instructions:

1. Paint wood block white and distress edges with sandpaper and brown ink pad.

2. Adhere patterned papers to front surface of wood block and to the chipboard girl piece. Distress edges with brown ink pad.

 3. Apply Glue Arts Adhesive Line near the bottom of the dress, rub in place then remove the protective plastic strip.

4. Apply fine silver glitter to the Adhesive Line and press into it with your finger. Shake off excess glitter.

 5. Wrap silver wire around the girls head to resemble a halo. Paint chipboard snowflakes white, allow to dry then apply Mica Flakes. Adhere the chipboard snowflakes to the backside of the girl to make angel wings.

 6. Stamp wood block at the top right corner with seasonal greeting. Adhere the angel with wings to the block and use a 1/2" Adhesive Square to the backside of a metal snowflake brad and add to the halo.

 7. Cut strips of cotton lace, embroider a running stitch along the top of the lace then adhere to the bottom of the skirt. Make a wreath with silver pipe cleaners and adhere resin star and snowflake brad. Adhere 2 small green leaves to the wreath.

 8. Apply seam binding to the outside circumference of the wood block and tie a bow on the side. Adhere a button and rhinestone to the bow's knot using hot glue. 
9. Adhere a wood knob to the top center of the block with hot glue and add a rhinestone to the center top.

Beautiful right? Amazing how a simple piece of wood can be turned into something so incredible.
