1. Create a layered card base using cardstock and patterned papers. Start with a base of kraft cardstock. Add a second layer of yellow patterned paper, followed by a third layer that was punched at the bottom with a scalloped border punch.

2. Adhere a small piece of doily under the scalloped border. Cut a thin strip of the yellow patterned paper to go across the center of the card.

3. Adhere seam binding ribbon across the center of the card using Glue Arts Ribbon Adhesive.

4. Cut a piece of recycled chipboard that is 3" x 7" and fold in half to create a 3" x 3.5" pocket. Hand cut or die cut an Easter egg shape from the top flap of the folded chipboard. I used a template that I downloaded from the internet.

5. Press each edge of the chipboard into embossing ink and embossing powder and then heat set using an embossing tool. Using a Q-Tip or sponge to apply the ink, repeat the steps above to emboss the inside curve around the egg.

6. Lay a piece of batting between the chipboard flaps, followed by a piece of fabric.

*Tip: to keep the fabric from slipping and moving, lightly adhere them with a bit of High Tac adhesive.

7. Close the chipboard together and machine stitch around the edge and the inside egg.

8. Adhere lace trim along the bottom of the chipboard and ruffled paper doily across the top edge using Glue Arts Ribbon Adhesive. Affix chipboard panel to the card base using Glue Arts Extreme Adhesive Squares.

9. Add a hand-stamped tag and a bow and button to the left of the card using Extreme Adhesive Squares. Embellish with adhesive pearls.

Print and roughly cut an egg template. Adhere to piece of cardstock w/repositionable adhesive, cut around the shape w/a craft knife.

Save both parts!

Take another piece of cardstock - to fill the negative shape of the egg. Apply high tac onto the piece.

Add ribbons, and use the extreme adhesive squares to add the ribbon-square to the card.

Using Raisen's (in hindsight - the ribbon was fairly thick, so I should probably have used U cut it foam here instead) and add the egg-shape onto the ribbons.

The ScrapCake & C'est Magnifique Kit Club # 2

Hello Again,

This month The ScrapCake Design Team are Guest Designing for the C'est Magnifique Kit Club.
The April kit is gorgeous and features the The ScrapCake My Private Happiness collection by Karola Witczak and some wonderful embellishments which compliment the papers beautifully.

Today, I have another layout to share, once again created with the April C'est Magnifique Kit.

I added white cardstock for my background and some paint for the chippie flourish, but everything else is from the kit I worked with.

And a closer look

You will spy a super sweet Green Tara crystal butterfly sitting among the blooms and a chipboard flourish which I have painted white.  The chipboard flourish was actually a large corner piece, which I have cut up and used part of it here.

A hot air balloon was constructed from patterned paper using a pattern/template  by Kate Pullen.  It is available HERE as a free downloadable.

Till next time,

Hugs

xx T

Quick instructions:

1. Make the box from a 10" square paper. Punch out a decorative edge on all sides (don't worry about the corners cause you'll cut those up). Score at 2 1/2" on all sides. Cut a slit on two sides to create the box. Use Perma tac adhesive to close it up.

2. Cut two pieces of 1 1/2" x 12" paper strip, scor at 5" points and adhere to the center of the box outside.
3. Cut a 2 1/2" x 12" strip of paper. Punch a border on both long ends. Cut another strip of paper that is 1 x 12" in width, adhere to the center of the wider strip. Adhere the ends on the inside portion of the box to create the handle.

4. Make two bows for each box from 3/4" wide ribbon. Adhere a brad on the center and adhere the bow on the front and back side of the box lining it up with the handle using Glue Arts Extreme square.
5. Fill up with grass and Easter goodies!

"Happy Easter Card"
GlueArts Designer:  Jaime Warren

I openly admit that I always struggle when creating cards.  They just don't come easily to me.  Thankfully this one came together much easier than I anticipated!

Supplies:

Instructions:
To start I took three sheets of 6x6 patterned paper (trimming the top layer to fit in the center) and, using my Glue Glider Pro, attached all three together.  I then sewed the edges together, leaving an edge of about an inch and a half.  Once I was finished with my sewing I simply trimmed until I had the card to the preferred size.

I created a layering of embellishments, starting out with a doily.  I used my PermaTac Mini's to attach the doily.

I trimmed the second layer of my embellishment "stack"  out of patterned paper and attached it to the doily.  Then, using U Cut It Foam I attached my "Happy" sticker to the top.  I attached my butterfly to the outer edge of the "Happy" sticker.  Under the embellishment "stack" I used my letter stickers to finish the "Happy Easter" sentiment.

The very last step was to punch a scalloped border for the top and bottom of my embellishment "stack."

I hope you enjoyed my little Easter card!!
