Back to School Supplies
1. Apply High Tac adhesive to the chipboard frame and owl and cover with patterned paper. Use a craft knife to trim out the chipboard design. Sand the edges of the pieces to get rid of any excess paper, and then ink the edges with brown ink.
2. Fussy cut a leaf from patterned paper and add it to the tree branch using U Cut It Foam adhesive for a bit of depth and dimension.
3. Tie ribbon and string around the tree branch and add a decorative brad.
4. Cut a 5" x 11" rectangle from raw chipboard for the backing, along with a matching sized piece of patterned paper. Cut smaller pieces of 5" x 3" chipboard and papers for the top flap. Apply High Tac adhesive to the chipboard and cover with the patterned paper. Place the two chipboard pieces end to end, and hinge together using decorative tape.
5. Gather two clear cello sleeve bags to hold school supplies. I used recycled packaging sleeves that I like to save for just such projects. Cut patterned papers to size for the width of the cello bags and adhere to the bags using Glue Arts vellum Adhesive.
NOTE: Make sure the opening to the cello bags is at the bottom.
5. Adhere the background piece of covered chipboard to the center of the cello sleeve using Extreme Adhesive Squares. Add U Cut It Foam adhesive to the back of the owl and frame chipboard piece.
6. Place owl over the background chipboard piece.
7. Slide the two cello bags between the back and top flaps of the chipboard, with the ends going all the way to the top. Lift the smaller top flap of chipboard and staple the cello bags to the bottom chipboard.
8. Fill the cello sleeves with a variety of school supplies, such as pencils, pens, crayons, markers, post-it-notes, index cards, glue sticks, and erasers. Whatever you need.
9. Cut a Back to School sentiment and matching word strips from patterned paper. Adhere the title sentiment over the owl using U Cut It Foam adhesive. Then add word strips to the top flap and bottom bag using Micro Extreme Adhesive Squares.
