Redheads and Sweet Threads...

go together like peanut butter and crackers!lol

Well we think they do!!

Designer Lesley Langdon is not only blessed with three beautiful children, who yes all have beautiful red hair...but she is also blessed with artistic talents.

Her beautiful layout today perfectly highlights Basic Grey's Sweet Threads line yet equally so...her beautiful family of....redheads!

REDHEADS
Designed by: Lesley Langdon

Introduction:

I always appreciate when manufacturers create coordinating papers and embellishments and do all the matching for us! And if you love making your own paper embellishments, you can make flowers from your die cut templates, while saving yourself a lot of money, and make use of your coordinating papers! That is what I did with this beautiful paper from Basic Grey. Since these papers were double sided, I was able to die cut some flowers, and as I layered them, I switched sides for some contrast. I used their coordinating buttons and brads for the centers.

Glue Arts Supplies:
Glue Glider MAX with Perma Tac Adhesive
Extreme Adhesive Squares
Micro Extreme Adhesive Squares

Basic Grey Supplies:
Sweet Threads Collection

-Stitched Brads
-Alphabet Stickers
-Bloomers
-Canvas and Paper Flowers
-Buttons

Other Supplies:
Spellbinders Die Templates (Rose Creations, Creative Pages)
Twine from The Twinery

Cardstock by Bazzill

Instructions:
1. Cut Basic Grey patterned papers with a die cut machine, using flower dies and page dies. The page dies (scallop, ticket) will form the backdrop of the layout.

2. Make flowers from patterned paper by layering them and using Glue Arts Micro Extreme Adhesive Squares to adhere layers. Adhere button with twine using Glue Arts Extreme Adhesive Squares.

3. Using Glue Arts Glue Glider MAX with Perma Tac Adhesive, adhere all papers to white cardstock. Once adhered, use your fingernails to go around the edges and curl them up for a little distressing.
4. Adhere photo and printed journaling, then add all flowers to the layout using Glue Arts Extreme Adhesive Squares which are PERFECT for adhering all sorts of embellishments.
5. Hand cut leaves, ink edges with green chalk ink, then tuck them under some flowers, adhering to the layout.

6. Finally, adhere another little page die cut in the top right corner with button.

Today we wanted to share with you another poem....we're giving it our Honorable Mention award! It was not easy to pick a winner...so please show some love for Wendy Myers and her poem:
 Scrappin Fools

We have so much fun we could never explain it.

We laugh, we talk, and we have great fun

We talk about everything under the sun.

We always have gifts for each other it seems

Sometimes only we know what they mean

We each have our ways, but we are never boring

Sometimes it’s talking for others it’s snoring.

Dancing and eating and scrap lifting are favorites

but those around us probably hate it

WOO HOO

With all of the memories we have in our mind

We don’t want any to get left behind.

We put them on pages to keep or to give

To show all the happy and sad things we did.

We have lots of gadgets, stickers and glue

But all that we need is an idea or two.

To complete a page and have so much fun

It’s amazing that we get anything done.

But when it’s concluded and we are done

I know there will always be another one.

Until next time I’ll keep you all in my heart

My Sisters in Scrappin

I Love you a lot
