Purse Organiser

I just loved the little purse organiser that Jane Jones designed as a challenge for Scrapping Outback. Loved it so much just had to have a go and make one for myself.

Showing Inside

Up Close Peakies of the front

I have used the very nice K & CO Madeline Collection and some older (but a goodie) Basic Grey Stella Ruby for this

You can check out Jane's creative process here for making one for yourselves

Christmas In July Sketch Challenge

First of July which means that my Scrapping Outback GDT spot officially kicks of today. The 'honour' has been bestowed upon myself to come up with this month's sketch challenge. I thought that it would also be fun to incorporate a 'Christmas' theme as it is July and all.

This is the sketch that I have come up with

And here is my sample

Close Up Peakies

Make sure you visit us at Scrapping Outback - the rest of the 'criteria' for this challenge is available in the forum. Hope that you will all play along with me

Water Colour Roses

I just adore roses (anyone who has been to my house can atest to this as my garden is full of them!) Anyway, I fell in love with this gorgeous Stampin Up Fifth Avenue rose stamp as soon as I saw it. I came across this fantastic water colour technique that Patty Bennett had used for her roses. I have adapted the technique to suit the products that I have. Instead of using ink as Patty has done, I have used water colour crayons. I think that the end result is kind of pretty

Materials Used
Stamp: Stampin Up 'Fifth Avenue Rose', 'Frienship Blooms' (sentiment)
Paper: Stampin Up Designer Series Kiwi Kiss
Cardstock: Bazzill
Spellbinder Dies: label and flourish 12"
Water Colour Crayons, White Ink, Clear Embossing Powder

Another Stampin Up stamp collection which is now high on my 'wish list' is the 'A Rose Is a Rose' Set thanks to Kellie (LOL!) I have always admired what Kellie does with this set, anyway I finally got to play with this set on Saturday myself when I attended one of Kellie's workshops. This is one of the cards that we made

Just love the 2 tone shading effect you can achieve with this set

Thanks Kellie for such a great afternoon and also to Jess (aka Martha Stewart) for putting us all up for the afternoon. I say Martha Stewart cause she put on this amazing yummy spread for afternoon tea.

It was fun to just hang out and have a couple of kid free hours!

I got a 'gentle' nudge the other day from one of my scrapping buddies 'to update' my blog. Anyway here I am......

It has been quite a stressful time for me of late with lots of things going on - for the most part, unpleasant. My dad's health is still causing me the greatest angt as he is very unwell. He goes in for more surgery on Friday. I hope that this surgery gives us the answers we need and makes him comfortable. It just breaks my heart to see him so unwell.

I have tried to keep my mind occupied. I have some scrapping projects which I will share with you 'soon' and of course there is also my 'toy boy' vampire lover which has been helping me to escape my reality

Yes I have totally succumbed to Edward Cullen and Stephanie Meyer's Twilight series and have to confess that I am totally now an OCD member

Thanks Janey for the blinkies - think we have it as bad as each other now!!
