These are a few of our Favorite Things!!

It seems fitting that as we reach the end of the year that we reflect back on what we have achieved and accomplished this year.

This year has been especially significant for Glue Arts as we have started our Glue Arts blog, formally organized a team of designers and really stepped ourselves into the world of social media. We're just a the tip of what we can and want to do.

We asked the Glue Girls to think back over these past few months and pick their favorite projects that their fellow designers made for fhr blog.

We can tell you...it's not easy to go back over and find one that stands out more then the others. It's in fact...a bit difficult. Here are some of the designers favorite projects and the designer who made them!!

Are any of these your favorites???

Kristen Swain picked Glue Girl Linda Albrecht's Fabric Houses as her favorite. "Linda's little fabric houses, they are so adorable! I love all her pretty little bits of them. Top that off that she even added tiny little photos on there, I love them to bits!" Linda used our Fabric Bond adhesive to create these beautiful houses. Think of changing the fabrics and making these for Valentine's Day...or tuck in a few items to use them for a beautiful table decoration for Easter.

Designer Linda Albrecht picked Patti's Milazzo's Sweet Sewing set and said "Patti's Cosmo Cricket fabric sewing accessories set was so fun and useful and I just love anything to do with sewing and her stitching on there was a perfect touch to the project. That cute little glass pin cushion was to die for too!" (we thought so too!)

and she also chose Designer Kristen Swain's Sweet Little Thing Card...she said "I also really loved Kris' envelope card that she made with Crate paper stuff. I love how it's all wrapped up with twine and has all those embellies layered. Then she added that berry sprig.. ohhh...... love."

Designer Patti Milazzo echoed many of the same sentiments..."I absolutely ditto to Linda's birdhouse...just gorgeous! I loved the Cosmo Cricket Fabric houses too!"

"I also loved Danielle's super cute (May Arts) Sweet Christmas Cheer ornament and card - perfect idea for gift giving...I'm doing this for Alex's teacher....thank you Danielle for being ingenious!"

She also loved Linda's Ipod Cover and Birdy Set..."And that bird is soooooooo cute!"

And I also loved Leslie's Cosmo Cricket Fabric Memory Box...another idea I'd love to do for my craft room...so clever!

Designer Lindsay Wahl echoed the sentiments of everyone.. "It's way too difficult to choose my favorites, but here are two that I especially like--Jessica's teacher treat jars (Crate paper) and Cheri's Winter Warm Up gift tin.

Do you have a favorite project? Something that just stood out or you liked so much you made it for yourself as well? We would love to hear....and for letting us know your favorite projects(s) we'll send to one random winner our favorite Glue Arts products!

We'll be sharing more of the designers favorite projects on Wednesday so you have through then to leave us a comment and we'll enter you to win a Glue Glider Pro, Extreme Adhesive Squares, 3D Combo and our Ribbon Adhesive (not shown).

NOEL Holiday Block Letters
Designer: Julia Sandvoss

SUPPLIES NEEDED
• Making Memories Noel papers, diecuts, stickers and felt poinsettia flower
• Making Memories Falala papers, pin
• Shabby Chic Crafts (shabbychiccrafts.com) Christmas Daily Album Journaling Kit II
• Glue Arts Glue Glider Pro Perma Tac, 3D Combo Pac and Extreme Adhesive Squares
• Wood letter cubes (purchased at Hobby Lobby)
• Bazzill cardstock
• KaiserCraft pearls
• Colorbox Chalk Inks: warm red, lime pastel, moss green
• EK Success lattice chain border punch
• Circle punch
• Stickles glitter: Christmas red
• Making Memories Slice Design Cordless Cutter Machine and Noel design card

Step 1 • Start by selecting your papers and embellishments. It's fine to mix and match papers from different manufacturers or even different year's holiday lines. Cut four squares of various papers 2 3/4 inches by 2 3/4 inches.
Step 2 • Using the slice cutter machine, cut out the "NOEL" letters in a 3-inch size. You can also hand cut or even use a large alphabet sticker or chipboard for these. Ink the letter edges and set aside.
Step 3 • For the "N" block select the background paper and ink the edge of the Shabby Chic Crafts "Joy" flashcard along with the paper. Adhere the flashcard to the paper, layer a punched circle with the Christmas bottle cap diecut. Ink the edges of diecut and adhere to the paper using Glue Glider Pro with Perma Tac for good adhesion. Next adhere the letter "N." Cut a small square of the U Cut It Foam and adhere the Vintage Christmas Tag Stamp diecut to the Joy tag. This creates a dimensional diecut. Finish off with felt poinsettia using the Extreme Adhesive Squares. Add a rhinestone to the center of the flower. Tuck in decorative pin behind stamp diecut.
Step 4 • For the "O" block, select the background paper and adhere to the block. Punch a strip of paper using the lattice edger punch. Use the Making Memories Slice and Noel design card to cut a decorative frame and circle. Ink edges and adhere the punch strip with the frame and circle layered on top. Next cut a circle from the U Cut It Foam and adhere the 3D Christmas greeting diecut to the block. This creates a dimensional diecut. Add glitter to the holly berries on the diecut. Pop up the holly leaves on the diecut.
Step 5 • For the "E" block select the background paper and adhere to block. Use the Slice and Noel design card to diecut a frame and holly berry. Ink the edges and adhere to the background paper using the Glue Glider Pro. Then add the Vintage Christmas Tag Stamp diecut to frame. Cut thin strips and squares from the U Cut It foam. Place these onto the backside of the letter "E." Adhere to diecut. Add word stickers and a pearl embellishment. Use the Stickles glitter and apply glitter to the holly berries on the diecut. Adhere using a small square of the U Cut It Foam to give it dimension.
Step 6 • For the final block, once again select the background and adhere to the block. Cut a smaller piece of holiday paper and ink edges. Select the Shabby Chic Crafts "Cheer" flashcard, ink the edges and adhere both to background paper. Next cut a small rectangle from the U Cut It Foam and adhere the Making Memories Noel glitter diecut to the block. Adhere the letter "L" to the diecut. Last step is to hand cut the poinsettia from the Making Memories paper (or use another felt flower). Use the Extreme Adhesive Squares to attach the poinsettia and finish off with a pearl embellishment.

It's a Wonderful Time of the Year!

It's good to say that...because it IS a Wonderful time of the Year!! Our homes are decorated, trees lit all aglow, smells of yummy cookies and treats baking. It's a shame this feeling and amazing creativity doesn't last all year long!

Well the beauty about the Glue Arts blog is is that the inspiration and ideas are here for you ALL year long. So if perhaps time has not allowed you to work on an idea you've seen us share...then come back another day and make that item.

Last week was a truly outstanding week with us highlighting Graphic 45's Christmas Past products and we're not quite done yet...we still have two more projects to share with you from Designers Carole Janson and Michelle Lanning.

Christmas Countdown Tree
Designer: Michelle Lanning

Supplies:
 Paper Products - Graphic 45
Wooden Tree - Kaiser
Glitter Stars - Jolee's Botique
Twine - The Twinery
Ribbon-May Arts
Glitter - Martha
Glue Arts: Ribbon Adhesive, Adhesive Squares, Glue Gun Sticks, Glue Glider Pro Perma Tac Adhesive

Instructions:

After adhering the pattern paper to the wooden tree with my glue runner, I adhered the details with the ribbon Adhesive.

The ribbon adhesive was perfect as a thin piece that had some tough "stick". The fanned pattern paper is held nicely with the glue.

The pom-poms and stars are held with the Glue Gun. I wanted to make sure they held really well.

Angel Box Window
Designer: Carole Janson

Supplies:
Paper Products - Graphic 45 pattern papers
Woodern Semi Window Box
Kindy Glitz Gold
Petaloo Chantilly Flowers
Petaloo Holiday Foliage in White
Crackle Medium by Jo Sonja
Cream and Mustard Paint

Glue Arts:
Glue Glider Pro - Perma Tac
3D Combo Stickers Pack
Adhesive Squares
Glue Gun & Sticks

Designer Tip: For the snow-glitter I added some hot glue and then sprinkled on the "snow". Super easy and a technique I will definitely use again!

Step One: First I painted the top of the semi window box with the Mustard paint, then I used the Crackle Medium waiting for it to dry, then I used the cream paint which gave the crackle look to the project, I also added some Kindy Glitz Gold Glitter around the edges of each window.

Step 2: I covered the background of the semi window box with the Graphic 45 pattern paper using the Perma Tac Glider Pro. I then stuck the top down using the Glue Gun & sticks.
Step 3: I cut out the gorgeous pictures of the Angels from the Graphic 45 pattern papers, I used 2 papers which had the same patterns and then layered them with the 3D Combo pack.
Step 4: Trim a square piece of Graphic 45 pattern paper for the centre of the Semi Window Box and stick down with the adhesive squares and then stick the layered angels on top as shown in the photo, you can then add more pictures, flowers etc.
Step 5: Trim with some more Kidy Glitz Gold Glitter, and some Christmas embellishments.

Wow..talk about going out with a bang...or in this case glitter!!lol
