Craft Away With Craft Wars!

It's Tuesday and that means time to Craft!

Craft Wars crafting!

After watching the shows over the past few weeks one thing we noticed is adhesive, adhesive and yes adhesives all play an important role in the crafts.

One thing we noticed..and the judges do as well..is often the crafters are not choosing the right kind of adhesives for their projects. They tend to pick adhesives that are time consuming, messy or just all wrong for the project.

GlueArts offers a wide range of dry adhesives that work on everything from paper, fabrics, canvas, felt and much more.

And also quickly and easily too! (and no mess!!)

Our adhesive squares come on a roll and are not only easy to use but adhere quickly too! (and hold!!) and best of all...NO MESS!

So tonight when you watch Craft Wars at 8pm EST/7pm CST pay attention to the adhesives they choose and then stop by GlueArts website and pick up a few of ours that you can use!

Last week's winner of a GlueArts Glue Gun is...
Cheryl won with her wonderful tree, using chalk and glitter from the craft closet. Beautiful tree topper made with tree light bulbs and plexiglass. The writing on the tree was neat and can be changed from year to year. The tree skirt was not a favorites the judges. Both trees were fun.

Updated Time for Craft Wars

It's Tuesday!

And that means time to grab a cold drink, your GlueArts Glue Gun, a bowl of popcorn (our family pick!) and check out another episode of Craft Wars!

A bit of good news too...Craft Wars is now on at 8pm EST/ 7 pm CST!

So no more having to stay up late and wake up tired because you don't want to miss out!

Now you can watch it a bit earlier!

And please do watch. We realize not all the crafts may be ones on your upcoming crafting list. We know that you "might not" be making a playhouse anytime soon. But the the key is that we are finally getting to watch a craft show that is all about us!  Crafters!

And we're still watching to see when our GlueArts Glue Glider PRO+ is used! So for some fun this week we're giving away our GlueArts Glue Gun and a refill pack of Glue Sticks. How to win? Simply watch the show and tell us the winning project? And if you want a bonus entry tell us one supply from the craft closet that was used during the show! Then we'll pick one random winner and announce their name here next Tuesday. It's just that easy. Watch and win....

Antique Altered Bird Cage

Hello Lovely Friends,

I have a little altered home decor project to share.
I have combined lots of Twiddleybitz loveliness with The ScrapCake 'One Moment In Time' collection and some beauty with Manor House Creations blooms.
I first started with a Twiddleybitz Antique Bird Cage which was painted black. Twiddleybitz have some new 'powder dusts' which I have been trying out.  I was able to add easily a touch of metallic, rustic glam with some of the bronze powder dust mixed with the binding solution. I found that you don't need much as a little bit goes a long way.
Some 'Chicken Wire' was attached over the top of the cage and the flowers were attached to this.  I first started by wrapping a couple of Prima Vines around the top.
The cage from the Twiddleybitz Small Pedestal Bird Cage was also adapted to sit at the front of antique birdcage roof - a bit like an attic effect.
A flourish door from the Twiddleybitz Opening Gates set was added to the side. A little sentimental tag from The ScrapCake 'One Moment In Time' collection was added to the front.
A few gorgeous Manor House Creations flowers were incorporated to create a cascading canopy of floral beauty over the cage top.
A Winter’s Song bloom creates a focal point.
At the front

As well as from behind
Some coordinating hand made flowers were also added to the mix along with some pretty Gratitude blooms that have also tucked in to the floral arrangement.
The top part of a filigree stand was adapted to add a decorative accent at the top.

The small pedestal stand sits inside the cage with a little arrangement of altered wooden spools and some more blooms.
A Birds on a Branch piece was cut up and the twig elements tucked into the floral arrangement.

Kaisercraft July Sketch #1

Saturday Greetings!!

Hope the sun is shining in your part of the world.

Kicking off today,  with the first sketch for July which has gone up on the Kaisercraft BLOG.
The sketch has been taken from the layout created by Kylie Obst.  The layout 'Harrison' can be seen in the July workshop magazine.

Here is my interpretation created with the very pretty Kaisercraft MISS MATCH Collection.

'Everything Beautiful'

The sketch is quite linear and bold in its design.  To add softness, I substituted circle elements for the square and rectangular design features of the sketch.
The Miss Match Specialty Die Cut - 'Rummage' frames my page -  I have cut around the floral edge of the die cut therefore removing the middle insert.
Elements from the Collectables pack have incorporated - layered behind the photo along with punched and die cut elements and decorative scalloped border strips from the paper pad.
For a touch of femininity, pretty flower blooms were added along with butterflies taking flight  (collectables and stickers) and an adorable parasol element again found in the collectables pack.

If you would like to participate:

The rules: Each Saturday every month a new sketch and inspirational layouts will be posted here on the blog. From these 3-5 sketches (depending on how many Saturday’s there are), you have that many chances to create a layout of your own and upload it to any gallery of your choice, or in a blog post. Once done, link your layout into the comments section of the appropriate sketch blog post and you’re entry is complete! Find FULL terms and conditions here.
The deadline: Comments with linked layout entries for each monthly sketch challenge will close on the last day of that month at 11.59 (Australian Eastern Standard Time UTC +10/Daylight Savings Time UTC +11)
The prize: 1st PLACE: One of Kaisercraft’s new collections (valued at approximately $50). 2nd PLACE: A Kaisercraft scrap pack (including new products) valued at approximately $30.

My Creative Scrapbook - Recreating Banners

Hi There,

I have a little tutorial to share for recreating the banner as seen on my layout created for My Creative Scrapbook with their Limited Edition June Kit.
Banners or Buntings are not only super sweet but are also super fun to make.  I must confess that they are often a feature of my creations from time to time.
They can be made from your scraps of patterned papers and are a quick and easy way of adding a customized accent to your paper crafting project.

To recreate a banner/bunting as seen on my layout -‘Little Girls have magic all of their own’
Create a curved line – I traced around part of a dessert bowl to create the curve and then draw the triangles along the curved line.
Then simply cut out around the lines which you have drawn
The banner was attached with foam dots to add some dimension.  Die Cut elements from the My Creative Scrapbook June Limited Edition Kit were then attached over the top.
Try altering the size of the banner by adjusting the length and curvature of the line.  The size and shape of the ‘flag’ can also be adjusted.

'She’s a little Princess’
Instead of a triangle why not try a different shape as I have done here.
