I had 'A Joyful Heart' indeed when I put together this project featuring the gorgeous Kaiser Secret Admirer collection.
The sides of the box were covered with coordinating papers - 'Flirtatious' for the front pieces and the reverse side of 'Flame' for the sides. The back piece is this 'Mystical' beauty:
With the large decorative frame element from this 'Sweetheart' paper
Attached over the top.
One of these Kaiser BTP Standing Birds
And perches on the front of the shadow box.
White Gesso was first used to alter the bird. A stippled finish along with some Twiddleybitz Plastic Shards- (like Twinklets Diamond Dust but not as sparkly) adds some texture and a touch of shabby appeal. The variegated colour finish was achieved with Heidi Swapp Color Shine - Primrose and Georgia Peach and Turquoise Blue Glimmer Mist. Prima Dasmask Teal Ink was used on the edges and some areas of the bird's body to add a little definition.
A corsage decorates the bird - this consists of a few twigs from the garden (also painted with a little white gesso), some Fussy Cut and Secret Admirer Collectable Doily and Icon elements, a few Kaiser Posies and some ribbon ties it altogether.
The Secret Admirer papers have so many wonderful elements that can be fussy cut for a scissor happy gal like myself. A few of these fussy cut elements have been attached to the in sides of the shadow box and behind the standing bird to add depth and dimension.
The large floral element from the Humble paper was incorporated
Along with some floral elements from the Luscious Gloss Specialty Die Cut
And a few smaller elements fussy cut from some of the papers contained in the Secret Admirer Paper Pad.
A bunting was created with a few of the doily elements which were folded over a length of ribbon. They were sealed closed with a little glue.
