The key to a happy home....

Hello and weekend greetings!

I have a home decor piece to share with you today. This one combines a large Kaisercraft Standing Key and the Pickled Pear Collection. A few Twiddleybitz chipboard components were added together to create a little village effect across the top of the key.
The front of the large MDF key was covered with pattered paper with the edges given a heavy coat of white gesso.  This was applied with a stippled appearance to add a little shabby appeal. A couple of coats were applied to give a better coverage. The first coat of paint tends to soak in somewhat as the MDF can be a little thirsty.

Once dry the edges were inked with a finger dabber and some distress ink.  Modge Podge was then randomly applied across the top and side edges of the key with some Twiddleybitz plastic shards then added and allowed to dry.  Diamond Dust also works a treat, the effect is a little more sparkly than using the plastic shards.

Glimmer Mists were then applied over the top of the shards. I used a combination of Tattered Angels Coffee Shop and Turquoise Blue. A couple of applications of each to build the colour up.
Little houses were constructed from the Twiddleybitz Miniature House Kit . There are 3 in kit, all slightly different.  These were decorated using papers from the Pickled Pear Paper Pad and Twiddleybitz button emphera - these are available at the shows.
Twiddleybitz Cast Iron Gates, Skeleton Tree and Lamp Post were added to the scene.  Some Kaiser lace was altered with gesso and glimmer mists and applied across the front.
Pretty Kaiser blooms, ribbon and a few Pickled Pear collectable elements finish it off.

Kaiser: Flora Delight

Prepare to fall in 'Love' with Kaisercraft's FLORA DELIGHT collection. With beautiful colours, elements and floral imaging, it will have the girly girl in anyone giggling with happiness.

Now for a few projects created with this truly delightful collection:

First up a layout:

  Be-You-Tiful
The reverse side of the 'Happiness' paper creates a neutral background for the magenta, pink and orange tonings to 'pop'. These papers were perfect for someone like me who likes to get 'scissor happy'. Hand cut leaves and floral blooms were layered with a few collectable elements and pretty paper blooms - a mix of coral, hot pink and fuchsia were clustered together.

Next a card for a special someone whose smile does make the world a much better place when they do
An easel arrangement was first created with spellbinders dies with lots of hand cut and collectable elements layered together.
And a little 3D altered wall art - this one is the Butterfly:
The fence pailings were altered with Base Coat 'Whitewash' paper. Just love the authentic wood grain look with the touch of shabby appeal.
Flora Delight elements were added to complete this happy home decor sentiment piece.

From our house to yours...

Earlier last year I was invited to create a beyond the page project for Scrapbook Creations that  showcased a few photos.  A Twiddleybitz House Printers Tray creates a beautiful foundation -  I loved putting this little house project together as seen in SC #96:

'From our house to yours'

The Printers Tray was relatively easy to construct - it came with instructions and was decorated with patterned papers from the Kaiser Turtle Dove Collection. This was one of my favourite Kaiser Christmas releases from last year. Although a Christmas range, the colours are classic and quite decor neutral and worked well for the project. The inside and outside of the tray were 'wallpapered' and 'rendered'.
A few family photos taken through the year were added to the rooms. As they were taken at differed times, they were altered to black and white to coordinate. Twiddleybitz furniture pieces FUR007 and FUR008 add a little homely feel and a medley of Prima flowers, vines and leaves add a touch of sweetness.

CCG#235

The new Color Combos Galore Inspiration Challenge has gone Live. This week #235 is 'Sweet Indulgence'!
So much to be inspired by with this board - just gorgeous.

For my design, I chose Inspiration Photo #3 Focus on Tools: Punches and took inspiration from Photo #2 in recreating a carousel.

To build my little carousel, I used Twiddleybitz Chipboard components: Cupcake Stand for 1, an Umbrella from the Kitch Chair and Umbrella Kit, Decorative Journal Circle and Arch Gate and Fence (with the fence removed).

I concentrated on the softer toning of the palette - Sea Foam, Blush, Ecru and Brown, with just dash  of the darker copper as contrast. The Prima Songbird Collection matched the palette beautifully.

Songbird Patterned Papers cover the parasol with a light stippling of white gesso over the top.
A Border Punch was used to add a decorative decal around the parasol edge. A touch of metallic gold adds subtle accenting as taken from the Inspiration Photo #2 with the Gilded Frames of the carousel. Stippling and Pearls were added to replicate the texture of Inspiration Photo #2.
Organza Ribbon drapes delicately over the carousel - inspiration for this was taken from Inspiration Photo #1 with the drapes.  An ornate decorative gate sits in the background - Inspiration again from Photo #1 with the arch work.
The horse is stamped with Prima Red Bark Ink and a Magnolia Rubber Stamp. A paper skirt was created with a length of coordinating patterned paper with one of the edges punched with a decorative border punch.  To continue with the decorative edge effect - a paper doily and die cut doily were layered over the top of Twiddleybitz Decorative Journal Circle.
Hand Cut elements from Songbird patterned papers and pretty Prima blooms in tonings of blush, sea foam, ecru and brown are clustered together to add a touch of sweet elegance.

Wishing you Hope, Peace, Joy...

Warm Greetings!

I have another beyond the page project to share with you all today.  This one combines the Kaiser Occasional BTP Christmas Tree Photo Display with the Merry and Bright Collection.

This is what the Photo Display looks like in it's natural state:

The outside edges were painted with Brown Umber and the inside covered with various papers from the Merry and Bright collection.  I did find that covering the back piece first was easier than trying to do it when it was assembled with the top insert piece attached over the top.
The outer edge of the tray was 'trimmed' with a little decoration. A thin strip of paper punched with a decorative edge was attached around the edge. Helmar 450 Gel Glue did a fine job of this. The bond is strong and dries clear.
A window box effect was created with some gate wooden flourishes attached on either side of the bottom opening.
Fussy cut elements from the Merry and Bright 'Vivacious'  paper were layered with a few Collectables.  Seriously I love these things, just can't say enough how versatile they are.  They are perfect on their own for adding a little accent or layering with other elements.
Larger and mini paper blooms were added around the photo.  Coral and Honey coordinate beautifully with this range.

A house to cherish...

Hello!
I have a little house project to share with you today. This one was made up a little while ago but I am just getting around to sharing now.
The house shadow box I used, I will admit to it sitting in my cupboard for a while...oops.  Anyway it has been given a little interior design and decorating makeover with the Kaiser Periwinkle collection. Periwinkle was an October release, one of my favourites actually and is still available in stores.  I just adore the colours and the pretty nature elements and loved putting this one together.

This is the shadow box in its all natural state:

I did have a play around with the inserts to make the arrangement a little different.  Pattern papers were used to 'wallpaper' the inside walls and to add a homey feel.  Pattern Paper was also used to 'render' the outside exterior a lovely shade of blue.  A little fret design was added along the roof edge with some decorative punched strips of paper.

When I saw the Periwinkle collection, I knew that it would make up beautifully.  The toning is well suited for my family room decor.

A few Kaiser wooden flourishes were incorporated to dress up the shadow box.

Periwinkle Collectable elements were layered with ribbon roses and a few mini paper blooms.

Metal keys, fussy cut butterflies and some special moments photos turn this into a family treasure to cherish always.
Thanks so much for visiting my 'humble abode'

A Joyful Heart

I had 'A Joyful Heart' indeed when I put together this project featuring the gorgeous Kaiser Secret Admirer collection.

The Shadow Box is a  12" x 12" size by Twiddleybitz:

The sides of the box were covered with coordinating papers - 'Flirtatious' for the front pieces and the reverse side of 'Flame' for the sides.  The back piece is this 'Mystical' beauty:

With the large decorative frame element from this 'Sweetheart' paper
Attached over the top.
One of these Kaiser BTP Standing Birds
And perches on the front of the shadow box.

White Gesso was first  used to alter the bird.  A stippled finish along with some Twiddleybitz Plastic Shards- (like Twinklets Diamond Dust but not as sparkly) adds some texture and a touch of shabby appeal.  The variegated colour finish was achieved with Heidi Swapp Color Shine - Primrose and Georgia Peach and Turquoise Blue Glimmer Mist.  Prima Dasmask Teal Ink was used on the edges and some areas of the bird's body to add a little definition.
A corsage decorates the bird - this consists of a few twigs from the garden (also painted with a little white gesso), some Fussy Cut and Secret Admirer Collectable Doily and Icon elements, a few Kaiser Posies  and some ribbon ties it altogether.

The Secret Admirer papers have so many wonderful elements that can be fussy cut for a scissor happy gal like myself. A few of these fussy cut elements have been attached to the in sides of the shadow box and behind the standing bird to add depth and dimension.

The large floral element from the Humble paper was incorporated
Along with some floral elements from the Luscious Gloss Specialty Die Cut
And a few smaller elements fussy cut from some of the papers contained in the Secret Admirer Paper Pad.

A bunting was created with a few of the doily elements which were folded over a length of ribbon. They were sealed closed with a little glue.
