Wintertime Through the Window....

For many of us when we look out our window...it's clear that it is Wintertime! However for some of you lucky fans...Wintertime is just a word...not something  you experience where you live. One of our fans yesterday posted from Maui...and we're pretty certain snow is not a normal part of her weather.

Regardless of where you live you can always bring a little wintertime into your home and decor! Today Designer Carole Janson has a sweet way to create your own winter window and Lesley Langdon shares a beautiful layout that we know you'll be recreating!

Glue Arts Perma Tac
Echo Park Pattern Paper

Step 1- I used a 11 x 9 inch Landscaped White Frame, then I took the frame apart, and put some 3D Combo Foam on the back of the Matt and then stuck it over Blue Cardstock and cut around and attached the matt back onto the frame.
Step 2- I then trimed 6 pieces of Echo Park pattern paper 2.5 x 2.5 inches, and stuck to the blue background paper with Glue arts perma Tac and added the snowflake border stickers.
Step 3- Stick the Snowflake Border from the Echo Park stickers on to Red Cardstock and cut around, then cut the stickers in half and stick to the top and bottom of the frame as shown in photo.
Step 4- Stick other pieces from the Echo Park stickers onto cardstock cut around and adhere to the square pieces using the Glue Arts 3D Combo foam, you can also add gems, twinery etc.
Step 5- Create a cute banner using Red Cardstock Echo Park pattern paper and some twinery, and stick to the frame using the Glue Arts Glue Gun and Sticks.

It's a Wonderful Time of the Year!

It's good to say that...because it IS a Wonderful time of the Year!! Our homes are decorated, trees lit all aglow, smells of yummy cookies and treats baking. It's a shame this feeling and amazing creativity doesn't last all year long!

Well the beauty about the Glue Arts blog is is that the inspiration and ideas are here for you ALL year long. So if perhaps time has not allowed you to work on an idea you've seen us share...then come back another day and make that item.

Last week was a truly outstanding week with us highlighting Graphic 45's Christmas Past products and we're not quite done yet...we still have two more projects to share with you from Designers Carole Janson and Michelle Lanning.

Christmas Countdown Tree
Designer: Michelle Lanning

Supplies:
 Paper Products - Graphic 45
Wooden Tree - Kaiser
Glitter Stars - Jolee's Botique
Twine - The Twinery
Ribbon-May Arts
Glitter - Martha
Glue Arts: Ribbon Adhesive, Adhesive Squares, Glue Gun Sticks, Glue Glider Pro Perma Tac Adhesive

Instructions:

After adhering the pattern paper to the wooden tree with my glue runner, I adhered the details with the ribbon Adhesive.

The ribbon adhesive was perfect as a thin piece that had some tough "stick". The fanned pattern paper is held nicely with the glue.

The pom-poms and stars are held with the Glue Gun. I wanted to make sure they held really well.

Angel Box Window
Designer: Carole Janson

Supplies:
Paper Products - Graphic 45 pattern papers
Woodern Semi Window Box
Kindy Glitz Gold
Petaloo Chantilly Flowers
Petaloo Holiday Foliage in White
Crackle Medium by Jo Sonja
Cream and Mustard Paint

Glue Arts:
Glue Glider Pro - Perma Tac
3D Combo Stickers Pack
Adhesive Squares
Glue Gun & Sticks

Designer Tip: For the snow-glitter I added some hot glue and then sprinkled on the "snow". Super easy and a technique I will definitely use again!

Step One: First I painted the top of the semi window box with the Mustard paint, then I used the Crackle Medium waiting for it to dry, then I used the cream paint which gave the crackle look to the project, I also added some Kindy Glitz Gold Glitter around the edges of each window.

Step 2: I covered the background of the semi window box with the Graphic 45 pattern paper using the Perma Tac Glider Pro. I then stuck the top down using the Glue Gun & sticks.
Step 3: I cut out the gorgeous pictures of the Angels from the Graphic 45 pattern papers, I used 2 papers which had the same patterns and then layered them with the 3D Combo pack.
Step 4: Trim a square piece of Graphic 45 pattern paper for the centre of the Semi Window Box and stick down with the adhesive squares and then stick the layered angels on top as shown in the photo, you can then add more pictures, flowers etc.
Step 5: Trim with some more Kidy Glitz Gold Glitter, and some Christmas embellishments.

Wow..talk about going out with a bang...or in this case glitter!!lol

We would like to give a special thanks again to Graphic 45 for sponsoring our team this past week! They were truly a pleasure to work with and we can tell you our fans thought the same!! Thanks also to our incredible designers for their beautiful projects and creations!!
