Kite Wall Art

Today I have a little project created recently - combining Kaisercraft Kite Wall Art with the Save The Date collection.  The colours of this collection remind me of summer sorbet, sweet and refreshing.

"Imagination is the highest kite one can fly"

Combining the happy colours of the Save The Date collection with the Kite Wall Art has created a fun, whimsical piece to adorn the wall of Miss E's bedroom.  She has a fascination for kites in particular with the 'how' and 'why' they can stay cup like they do. This was perfect for her.

Elements from the Collectables pack were combined with hand cut , punched and die cuts from patterned papers.
Some of the flag stickers were attached over a length of twine to add a little texture.

Fantasy Tree House

If you happen to have attended Melbourne Paperific recently, you may have seen this on display at the TWIDDLEYBITZ booth.

As a child, I loved reading 'The Magic Faraway Tree'  by Enid Blyton and took some inspiration from this series in the creation of this piece.

A Twiddleybitz Hat Kit was incorporated for the 'trunk' with lots of other Twiddley elements incorporated to create the fantasy tree house and canopy.

I absolutely loved creating this and it was indeed an epic creative journey. I totally love how it all came together in the end.

 Fantasy Tree House

The following Twiddleybitz Products were used:

Top Hat Kit
SBP003 Shadow Box Plain
BCSM01 Bird Cage Sm Pedastal Stand – part of the birdcage used only
FLOR024 Swirl Flourish Vine x 3
BAS018 Picket Fence Long x 2
TRE004 Fallen Maple Leaves x 3
WIR002 Chicken Wire Mesh x 3
MUSH003 Row of Mushrooms x 2
MUSH001 Tall Mushroom
GAT002 Opening Gates
HLP001 Hanging Lantern Post
WOR066 Fantasy Word
FUR009 House Kit Mirror Frame/Hall Stand
BIR006 Bird Silhouettes
Bird Nest

Prima Romantique papers were perfect for recreating my creative vision.
Manor House blooms also feature and added a beautiful foliage effect with the chipboard leaves and flourishes. Some of the flowers were lightly misted to coordinate.
You will also spy a bird cage which was adapted to sit on the front of the 'trunk'
To climb the tree to reach the magic land at the top, one requires some assistance.  In this case Twiddleybitz fences were adapted as ladders.
A little bit of woodland magic with some mushrooms scattered amongst the leaves and flowers.
Twiddleybitz chicken wire provided the perfect foundation for attaching a few of the elements.
I wonder which land we will visit today when we have reached the top??

Publication: 'Daydream Believer'

I totally **heart** the MME Follow Your Heart collection and it was the perfect choice for creating something in the style 'Sugar & Spice'.
As seen in the Scrapbook Creations #95

'Daydream Believer'
Papers which are feminine and soft in toning work well for this style.  I concentrated on pastel tonings but dusty and earthy would also look lovely.  I combined patterned papers with lots of coordinated embellishments.  Floral patterns, blooms and lace doilies add just the right amount of sweetness with a splash of darker blush for a touch of spice.
Pretty blooms and butterflies add some more sugary sweetness.

A little 'Summer Lovin'

During the month of August, Twiddleybitz combined with the Australian manufacturer Manor House Creations.  We had lots of fun adding the beauty and splendor of Manor House blooms to our Twiddley creations.

I have combined lots of Twiddleybitz loveliness with an assortment of Manor House blooms and The Scrapcake patterned papers. Manor House Creations are also the exclusive Australian distributor for The Scrapcake collections.

I just adore the gorgeous colours of the Summer City collection.  The pinks and crimsons remind me of hot summer days with spectacular sunsets on dusk.  The teal and blues are cooling and wash away the heat of a summer's day. 'Watermelon Splash' creates the perfect backdrop with accents from 'Paradise' layered over the top.  'Blue Lagoon' was used to cover the outside of the shadow box and it provided a wonderful contrast to the gorgeous splash of watermelon already incorporated.

The following TWIDDLEYBITZ elements were incorporated -

SB12001 12 x 12 Shadow Box
BOR031 Baby Sea Animals Border
SPK004 Steam Punk Clock with Gears
FLOR022 Long Flourish No Tail
FRA010 Circle Journal Frame
FRA013 Ornate Circle Frame
OVO17 Lighthouse Overlay
TEM009 Shingles Template

I added lots of MANOR HOUSE blooms to create a tropical oasis - you will spy Petite Roses - Blue, Melon and White, Idyllic, Winter's Song - Mittens - totally **heart** these beauties, Plain Janes and Taneisha.  Some of the blooms were easily altered with colour mists to create a coordinated look with the fabulous colours of the patterned papers.
Amongst the flowers sit some Twiddley sea friends - these were cut from the Baby Animals Sea Border.
One of the new Twiddleybitz page overlays is also featured - this one is the Lighthouse.  The lighthouse element was altered with  the assistance of one of the new templates - I have used 'Shingles', with lots of Texture Paste, Gesso, Diamond Dust and some misting.
Some twine and Prima shabby metal elements and Say It in Crystals finish it off.

Till next time,
