We're Kicking off this Week with a Bit of Holiday Style!

From the GlueArts designers and our friends at October Afternoon!

We're so excited to bring you one more week of holiday ideas, projects, layouts...you name it...we've got it! And if you use your time wisely (well one can hope!) this week...you can whip out some of these items too!

We loved what Designer Audrey Pettit shared with us today! It's perfect for those of you tight on time but big on ideas! She used a store bought snowman and plain box and created such an amazing gift box.

Designer Jamie Warren has such a beautiful layout filled with October Afternoon's Holiday Style, GlueArts products and glitter! (you can never go wrong with glitter!!)

October Afternoon Holiday Style Collection:
Patterned Papers, Die Cuts, Cardstock Stickers, Trim, and Buttons

Midwest Snowman and Box

1. Measure width of paper mache box and cut 1" strips of patterned paper to size. Adhere paper strips in alternating pattern to the box.

2. Add cardstock sticker to center panel and two snowflake stickers on either side. Use U Cut It Foam adhesive on the snowflake stickers.

3. Trace around the top of the lid on contrasting pattern paper and cut out. Adhere to box top. Apply ribbon adhesive around the rim of the box lid and adhere lace trim to the rim. Then add pom pom trim over the lace, attaching it with Micro Adhesive Squares.

4. Attach felt snowman to box lid using the Glue Arts Glue Gun. Tie lace trim around snowman's neck.

5. To add the Shaved Ice mica glitter, cut small pieces of Glue Arts Ribbon Adhesive and apply around the snowman. Work in small sections at a time. Apply the adhesive, then pour on the glitter and press it into place. Work all around the snowman until you have the desired thickness.

6. Add a snowflake sticker to the lid top using U Cut It Foam Adhesive. Adhere buttons to the snowflake centers using Micro Adhesive Squares.

7. Press candy cane sticker into Shaved Ice mica glitter to coat the sticky backside. Then adhere the candy cane to the snowman's arm using Micro Adhesive Squares.

8. Layer die cuts together using a combination of High Tac Adhesive and U Cut It Foam adhesive. Top with sentiment banner die cut and adhere it to the snowman using the Glue Glun.

ENJOY!! (cute picture of Audrey who yes...made this project while at a holiday crop!)

I was so happy to get to play with October Afternoon's new Holiday line - it's so gorgeous. I loved the color combos - classic, but different!

I wanted to document one of our Christmas traditions - going out to see the lights at a home local to us. They always go above and beyond decorating - it's truly an amazing sight! The October Afternoon line was perfect for this!

To start I used my Glue Glider Pro to adhere the top patterned paper to the bottom patterned paper layer. I trimmed it so that it fit in the center of the paper and then I scored the sides with my fingernail to give the edges a bit of a pop off of the page.

Once I had my patterned paper in place I placed my photos - two to the left hand bottom and one to the right hand top. Then it's time to start adding the embellishments! I love to layer my embellishments - I cut the poinsetta sticker in half and attached to the right and left sides of my layout. From there I started layering the embellishments, and scattered a few as well. I used the U Cut It Foam Adhesive to give the embellishments a pop. I love how thick the U Cut It Foam is - the dimension is incredible! I cut out the Christmas tree from a sheet of the patterned paper - I love creating embellishments from the patterned paper designs!

I then created my title - and placed over my two photos on the right hand side. I splattered a bit of mist, and after it dried I added my journaling lines and journaling.

My next step was to add a bit of sparkle to the middle of my snowflakes using the Extreme Tac Minis in the center of the snowflake and then sprinkling on the glitter! It holds the glitter really well!
