I used the Exit Here collection to produce this two page layout about a part of a family road trip vacation two years ago. As a scrapbooker, I took almost 300 photos of our two week trek but decided to split them up into a few pages so I don’t feel overwhelmed in trying to fill a single scrapbook page with tons and tons of photos. With the help of a themed collection like this from Nikki Sivils and Glue Arts adhesive, making this project was easy as pie.

Supplies:
Glue Arts Glue Glider Pro+ with Perma Tac Adhesive
Glue Arts Raisen's & U-Cut-It Foam
Glue Arts Hot Melt Glue Gun with sticks
Nikki Sivils "Messages" Collection Kit
Buttons and brads- BasicGrey
Trinket Pins- Maya Road
Dies- AccuCut & Ranger
Flowers- Prima
Jute twine and miscellaneous trims & fabric

Instructions:

1. Cut sentiments from patterned paper then use other patterned papers for die cutting shapes for 
3 large tags.



2. Layer papers and die cuts onto red tag with Perma Tac Adhesive, machine sew along tops of paper flag die cuts and add a Raisen dimensional adhesive square to the backside of heart die cut from collection kit.

3. Cut 3 pieces of jute twine and tie all into a bow. Apply a Raisen dimensional adhesive square to the tag and place the jute bow on top of it.

4. Add the heart with Raisen onto the top of the jute bow and add a star trinket pin.

5. Layer largest butterfly diecuts together with a Raisen.

6. Apply papers and die cuts onto the tan colored tag. Wrap jute twine around the tag a couple of times then tie into a bow on left side. Apply u-Cut- It Foam to a die cut label from the kit and place below the jute bow.

7. Adhere paper flowers to the not on the jute bow. Adhere layered butterfly to label and insert red heart trinket pin for antennae.


8. Adhere papers and die cuts to brown tag then wrap jute twine around tag and tie ends in a bow. Make a flower from patterned paper and adhere layers together with Perma Tac Adhesive then apply 3 brads to the center.

9. Adhere paper flower to tag with hot glue and add desired trims near bottom of tag and add a button to trim end and a trinket pin behind flower.

Shine a Bit of Light With GlueArts Raisen Adhesives

I love light... I love the beauty of it and the mood it can invoke. I picked up a set of 3 round paper lanterns awhile ago at a craft store when they were half off and have always wanted to pretty them up. This embellishment project was inspired by the Glue Arts Raisen's Adhesive Squares... they were perfect to make the layered flowers that I made for the paper lantern because of their dimension. I can't imagine that another type of adhesive would have made these flowers any easier to put together. 

"Embellished Paper Lantern"

Supplies:

Glue Arts Raisen's 3/8" Adhesive Squares

Glue Arts Micro Extreme Adhesive Squares

Glue Arts Hot Glue Gun and sticks

Other:

10" Round Paper Lantern- Hobby Lobby

Pearl Flower Stamins (for butterfly antennae)- Hobby Lobby Wedding

Die Cut flowers and butterflies- AccuCut 

Small Paper daisy flowers- Martha Stewart Wedding

Pearls for flower centers- Melissa Frances

Blue Crepe paper- Melissa Frances

Green leaves trim- May Arts

Old book paper

White tissue paper

Light Cord set for hanging- Ikea

Instructions:

1. Open paper lantern and insert wire base provided. Cut desired flower and butterfly shapes.

2. Apply Raisen Adhesive Square to the bottom book paper flower. Cut a slit through another flower and use a Micro Extreme Adhesive Square to overlap a couple of the petals to make it 3 dimensional. (If your 3D flower diecut does not have a hole in the center, punch a large hole so that you can add 3 flower layers to the Raisen.)

3. Stick the 3D flower to the center of the Raisen Adhesive Square that is in the center of the bottom flower.

4. Stick the blue crepe paper flower to the center of the Raisen then add small daisy like flower to the center of the crepe paper flower with a Micro Extreme Adhesive Square.

5. I also used the Micro Extreme Adhesive Squares to layer the tissue paper and book paper for the butterflies.

Add white tissue paper flowers and butterflies to the paper lantern using Micro Extreme Adhesive Squares before adding the 3D flowers that were put together with the Raisen's.

6. Use hot glue to adhere the pearl antennae to the butterflies. 

7. Use hot glue to adhere the 3D flowers onto the white tissue paper flowers on lantern.

8. I applied the flowers and butterflies at a diagonal onto the paper lantern then just wound the green leaf trim through them, adding a Micro Extreme Adhesive Square at random to the back of a leaf.

9. Hang up your pretty paper lantern and enjoy! :-) i might go and add some more white tissue paper butterfly layers to the lantern because I love what the light does to them when it is on... so soft and serene looking.

How incredibly beautiful is that? And think of all the possible styles, designs and themes you can create!

Hippity Hop Easter Is On It's Way with GlueArts!

"Fabric Wrapped Egg"

This a quick project for anyone who is like me and is always running behind. Make up one or several of these fabric eggs to pretty up a centerpiece or make smaller ones for each place setting at your Easter dinner table.  

Supplies:

Glue Arts Glue Glider Pro+ with Perma Tac Adhesive

Glue Arts Mini Hot Glue Gun with hot melt glue sticks

Other:

Paper Mache Egg- large, 8" long from smallest point (top) to bottom

Muslin fabric strips

Color Mists- Maya Road

Decorative Pins- Maya Road

Resin Wing- Melissa Frances

Paper butterflies & tag- Pink Paislee

Fabric Brad- BasicGrey

Brown Distress Inkpad- Ranger

Clear Glitter

Raffia & Tuelle

Cotton trim or ribbon

Silk Flower, buttons, and rhinestones on wire

Instructions:

1. Tear muslin strips about 1/2" wide. 

2. Begin wrapping strips onto the paper mache egg by applying Perma Tac Adhesive. Wrap the egg from top to bottom. Apply the adhesive at the beginning and end of each strip... and also at the top and bottom of the egg to prevent the fabric from sliding around. I also added a section of adhesive here and there on the egg, but did not entirely cover the egg. 

3. When wrapping the strips around the egg, do not start or stop at the top or bottom. If your fabric strip runs out at the top or bottom cut some of it off and adhere the end near the center of the egg. This prevents extra bulk and bumps at the top and bottom of the egg.

4. Wrap the entire egg in a single layer of the fabric strips from top to bottom. I sort of criss crossed the fabric as I layered over the top and bottom of the egg.

5. Apply more strips of fabric to the egg around the middle going the opposite way (horizontally verses top to bottom.) For this step I used hot glue. As the strips got close to the smaller end (top of the egg) you may need to use more hot glue to prevent the fabric from sticking straight out, so you will be slightly puckering some of the fabric and laying it down flat with the hot glue.

6. Lightly distress the fabric egg with a brown inkpad then apply color mists as desired. I used very light colors to achieve a pastel effect.

7. Spray the colored egg with adhesive then apply glitter. Rub off excess.

8. Tie ribbon or trim around the widest part of the egg and make a bow at the top.

9. Use hot glue to adhere the remaining embellishments to the egg near the bow.

10. Insert the trinket pins at an angle as they will not go through the base of the paper mache egg. Apply glitter to buttons if desired.

11. Add a tag and tie raffia onto a large button and adhere to the cluster of embellishments.

For another option to the larger egg, you could use smaller paper mache eggs or use the fillable plastic eggs. You will need to tear the fabric strips just a bit thinner so that they don't become too bulky on the eggs. They would make really cute dinner table placecards.

Glue Art supplies: Extreme Adhesive Squares - small and large, hot glue, U cut it, Raisen's

Other: Prima Marketing - paper, canvas, flower, trinket, chipboard, bling, mask; Maya Road - ribbon; StazOn Opaque Soft Lilac, Sassafras - chipboard, Craft Origine - clearstamp, bazzill - cardstock, tattered angels - iridescent gold glimmer mist 

Here I used the StazOn reinker - not on the inkpad, but directly on a sponge.



This way I could dab generously amounts of ink straight onto the canvas - using a mask to create a nifty, scripty pattern on the card  when done, spray lightly with the mist to add a touch of soft glimmer.



When finished, I used the same ink (this time from the inkpad like normal) to stamp my sentiment onto a piece of paper. Rolling the ends of the strip I used small extreme adhesive squares to keep the rolls in place.



Place the embellishments in front of you on the card to decide their placements.



Then use a hot glue gun to stick most of the stuff in place.



This butterfly, to sit upon the metal cage, was done using Raisen's though.



The whole thing was pretty heavy-ish, so I decided to use the large extreme adhesive squares to keep it sticking to the cardstock-base. So far so good! 

Finally - using U Cut it to keep the cardstock base on the card itself. The more dimension the merrier =)
