It's time to Get Baking....

Well let's rephrase that...

it's time to grab your baking tins and join us in making this adorable project by Designer Leslie Ashe! It's a whole new way to look at those baking tins!!

Designer Cheri Wenger has made the most beautiful Santa Shaker Box that has dimension and details galore! We're certain you agree this is a definite keeper! (and look how it matches her decor too!!)
Ashe Family Tin
Designer: Leslie Ashe

Supplies:
Glue Arts Glue Glider Pro with High Tac cartridge
Graphic 45 Holiday papers

other supplies:
muffin tin
Shimmerz Spritz & Vibez
American Crafts Thickers
Jenni Bowlin ink
EK Success circle punch
Martha Stewart small doily

Designer Info: This tin measures 7.5 " x 9.5 " and the muffin spots are 1.5" punched circles.

I started with this muffin tin, some wallet sized photo's, Graphic 45 Holiday paper, Glue Arts Glue Glider Pro, 3D Combo Pack, Extreme Adhesive squares, my 1.5" circle punch, May Arts ribbon:

I started punching circles:
then putting Glue Arts 3D adhesive (I cut into squares) on the backs
then put the circles inside the muffin tin, tied the May Arts ribbon.
(I also added a doily with "a" for our last name on top to the bottom right)
it was THAT easy.

Instructions:

1. Cut 2 pieces of red patterned CS to 7-1/2" x 5". Apply extreme adhesive to back using Pro. Align edge of CS with seam & top of Shaker box and wrap slowly around cylinder to avoid any crinkles in CS. Overlap second piece of CS approx 3/8", align edge with top of cylinder and slowly wrap, but stop about 2" before end. Lay cylinder down on table with scrap paper under it. Run another pass of adhesive over the edge of paper to ensure better adhesion along the seam. Rub down seam.
2. Trim red side of Holly & the Ivy CS to 12" x 2-1/4". Flip CS over to holly side (green bkgrd) and punch a 12" strip with Inifinite loop punch. Trim 1-3/8" strip of String of Pearls CS (ivory glitter). Layer ivory over the center of the red band using Pro and extreme adhesive. Flip over punched border and apply extreme adhesive to both ends of loopy border to hold in place over top of ivory. Now you should have a tri-stacked band. Set aside for now.
3. Trim out Santa art from CS using a craft knife and cutting mat. Set aside to layer on top of band. We are moving on to the bottom border now.
4. Cut (2) 12" x 1-1/2" pieces of Core Couture String of Pearls CS. Punch both strips with scallop dot border punch and trim each to approx. 8" lengths (you want to trim to where the full scallop is showing on each end). With scrap paper underneath each, apply extreme adhesive over top of both borders. Remove any visible adhesive [webbing] inside diecuts with your fingernail or the tip of the cutting knife. Align with back seam and bottom of box. Wrap around to front. Overlap strip in back aligning pattern of scallop on top of one another and wrap to the front. Note that the patterns will not exactly match, however this will be covered up. Trim border to align with seam.
5. Place lid face down on top of back side of String of Pearls CS placed over a cutting mat. Hold lid in place while you cut around lid with cutting knife. If you don't feel confident doing this, trace with pencil and cut out with scissors. Place lid back onto box for positioning purposes.
6. Change your adhesive in your Pro to High Tac which will give you the ability to reposition slightly if necessary. Apply adhesive to back of tri-layered band from step 2. Again, lay cylinder down so you can align the border even on each side to wrap around the box 1" below the lid. Note: the two ends will not meet, but will be covered with the Santa cut out. Apply adhesive to back of Santa and layer on top so that his hand covers the edge of the left side of band and the holly leaves cover the right side.
7. Punch out Night Before Christmas tag side and punch out hole. Knot green iridescent ribbon and trim points on ends of ribbon. Apply high tac adhesive to back and add some mini extreme adhesive squares [EAS] to the corners and sides of tag as well as the back of the knotted ribbon. Add mini EAS to back side of poinsettia silk flower. Layer with tag on front of the box. Next add vintage button with mini EAS and add adhesive red rhinestone to center of button. Add adhesive foam glitter elements: holly leaves, stars and red glittered poinsettia) to the front. Finish off with rhinestones added to Santa's hat and the poinsettia.
8. Roughly cut out Santa with his bag of toys. Cut a piece of U-Cut it foam adhesive to mount Santa onto. Remove liner to expose adhesive on top and apply Santa. Using cutting knife, cut around his contour. Set aside.
9. Apply high tac adhesive to back side of shape you cut out in step 5. Apply to top of lid.

Cut or punch out other elements used on lid. Trim away stamp edging from Dec. 25th art. Cut off 2 velvet leaves from garland. Arrange elements, then attach in layered order. To attach Santa, peel liner from back of adhesive foam. I used Pro with high tac adhesive and mini EAS to attach the rest.

10. Cut gold metallic ribbon to 15" length. Apply ribbon adhesive to back, remove liner and wrap around lid. Use cutting knife to seam in front. Tie small bow with same ribbon. Attach with mini EAS applied to back side of bow. Note: if you don't have ribbon adhesive, you can use your Pro with high tax and scrap paper or use mini EAS every couple inches to attach the ribbon.
