Celebrate with a Spring Canvas!

Hello Thursday!

It's been such an amazing week of projects showcasing GlueArts and My Little Shoebox!

Today is no exception!

Designers Patti Milazzo and Cheri Wenger both have just what you need! A sweet spring canvas and card! Make the canvas and card and give these to someone special!!
Spring Canvas
Designer: Patti Milazzo

Tip: As I work on projects and cut up my U-Cut-It Adhesive Foam, I often have small pieces left over. Instead of discarding even the smallest pieces, I’ll place them into one of the 3 Pack Cartridge containers that I’ve kept…they’re great for storage! Then on my next project, I’ll look through my container for the foam size that I need before cutting a new sheet.

Supplies:
Glue Arts:
Glue Glider Pro with
1/4 Perma Tac Cartridge Refill - Pro
3D Combo Pac – U Cut It
Extreme Micro Squares
My Little Shoebox:
Home Tweet Home Pattern Paper – Birds of a Feather, A Place to Nest, Cotton Candy, Out on a Limb and Birdhouse
Home Tweet Home Cardstock Stickers
Other: 8” x 10” canvas, glitter glue and buttons

Instructions:
1. Cut pattern paper to cover canvas. Distress edges and use Glue Glider Pro with Perma Tac Adhesive to apply paper to canvas.
2. Cut blocks of pattern paper to segment the paper covered surface of the canvas. I knew that I wanted to use the branch and tree stickers so I created those blocks first. I then cut a block to fit the journal shape and filled in the rest of the space as needed.

3. Cut pattern paper to be framed by each of the blocked paper pieces. Then apply stickers or images cut from pattern paper. Add stitching if you wish. Use Glue Arts U-Cut-It Adhesive foam to layer these pieces and create a dimension.
4. Use Extreme Micro Squares to attach buttons or other dimensional accents.
5. Apply glitter glue for a little extra sparkle to complete.

Spring Branch Card
Designer: Cheri Wenger

Supplies:
Adhesive: Glue Arts’ Glue Glider™ Pro with High Tac Adhesive and Micro Adhesive Squares
Cardstock: (The Paper Co.) 8-1/2” x 11” Mustard CS; (My Little Shoebox) Home Tweet Home Collection: A Place to Nest and Bird House CS
Cutters & Punches: (EK Success) PSN LE Circles; (Fiskars) Paper and scissors
Stickers: (My Little Shoebox) Home Tweet Home Cardstock Stickers
Ribbon: (May Arts)
Flowers: (Prima) Very Orange “Iced Got Flowers?”
Other Supplies: (Recollections) Small Adhesive Pearls and small red button

Instructions:
1.  Cut mustard cardstock in half to make card. Score and fold in half.
2.  Cut Bird House Cloud pattern CS to 5-1/4” x 2-15/16”. Apply two rows of high tac adhesive along bottom of CS and wrap green ribbon around back, securing with a few micro adhesive squares.
3.  Cut 5-1/4” x 2” piece of striped CS with stripes running horizontally. Punch circle border and attach a piece of white CS to back side to cover up the holes. Save some of the punched out striped circles for later use. Attach this panel to the back side of ribbon wrapped panel using Glue Glider™ Pro with high tac adhesive. Attach those panels to card front.
4.  Peel off clouds and branch sticker and apply all to top portion of card. Birdhouses will hang over top of ribbon. Add small yellow bird stickers. Trim end of branch even with right side of card.
5. Attach dotted daisy flower to middle circle using mini adhesive squares. Layer striped punched circle and red button on top using mini adhesive squares.
6. Add tiny flowers with mini adhesive squares on top of branch sticker. Place adhesive pearls in the centers.

Hey Cutie Pie!! It's Wednesday!!

Hey there......how are you?

We're great! (said like Tony the Tiger!lol) Today's projects just make us happy! Make us smile! And well they make us want to go create with these adorable products too!

Linda who is known for her standout home decor....brings us today this sweet, sweet layout with beautiful details. Kristen Swain created a knock out card and treat set....and we're back with another incredible layout (and tutorial) from our Guest Designer, Amy Sotolongo!!

Cutie Pie
Designer: Linda Albrecht

Supplies:
Glue Arts Glue Glider Pro with Perma Tac Adhesive
Glue Arts U-Cut-It 8 1/2" x 11" Foam Sheet
Glue Arts Hot Glue Gun & Sticks
My Little Shoebox" Home Tweet Home" Collection papers- Birds of a Feather,
Bird House, A Place to Nest and Cotton Candy
My Little Shoebox Mini Alphabet Stickers, SKY
My Little Shoebox "Home Tweet Home" Cardstock Stickers & Journaling Diecuts
BasicGrey "Hello Luscious" Zesty paper & "Sweet Threads" Boutique Shopping paper
BasicGrey "Basics" mini mono stickers, black & Fabric brad
Girls Paperie Word Stickers
Miscellaneous buttons, lace, brads, staples, ric rac
Sandpaper & light brown ink for distressing

Instructions:
1. Cut and tear miscellanoeous pieces of patterned papers and adhere them to the background piece using the Glue Glider Pro and Perma Tac Adhesive.

2. Mat a 4x6" photo to pink paper and distress edges as desired. Cut a piece of U-Cut-It Foam the size of the photo mat. Adding the foam to the back of the mat pops your photo up off of the page giving it center stage!
3. Carefully apply the foam to the backside of the photo and mat (this stuff is amazingly sticky!)

Designer tip:I laid the side of the foam that still had the protective covering onto my work table then placed the photo mat onto it starting at the top edge, smoothing it down toward the bottom.

4. Apply desired stickers, title letters & die cuts along the right side of the photo. Using a die cutting machine or hand cut flowers shapes from the U-Cut-It Foam & pink paper. Curl edges of 3 flowers, stack together and use brads for center embellishment. Apply one flower shape to the U-Cut-It Foam flower.
5. Apply the layered flower pieces to the foam flower with Hot Glue then adhere the flower to the layout. Make 2 additional smaller flowers (just 3 paper layers) for the layout.
6. Add machine stitching as desired, staples and brads at the ends of paper strips. Sew buttons onto lace piece and upper left corner near photo.

A Gift for the Teacher

We're back for our second week of working with the ever so fun My Little Shoebox products.

This week we have a great mix of layouts, cards and home decor ideas for you to get you thinking about outside the box...well the cereal box that is!

Up first...Designer Lindsay Wahl made the sweetest Spring Birdhouse that would be a welcome addition to your home! And Lesley Langdon is recycling, reusing turning a household item into the cutest gift box we've seen in a while! Don't you agree??

"Beautiful Spring" Birdhouse
Designer: Lindsay Wahl

Supplies:
• Glue Arts Adhesives: 3-d combo pac, Adhesive Squares, Glue Glider Max (Perma Tac), Glue Glider Pro (High Tac)
• My Little ShoeBox “Home Tweet Home” collection
• Birdhouse
• Buttons: Doodlebug
• Die Cuts: Cricut (Accent Essentials)
• Punches: EK Success

Instructions:
1. This project will obviously vary depending on what type of birdhouse you decide to use. Begin by measuring the background paper to fit all sides and the roof of the birdhouse. This is the most tedious part, especially punching the holes. I used a 1” circle punch after measuring where the holes should go.
2. Use the Glue Glider Max to adhere all of the background and roof papers to the birdhouse.
3. Punch borders from various strips of patterned paper. Use the Glue Glider Pro to adhere these borders around the bottom of the birdhouse, as well as the roof line around the entire birdhouse. Trim as needed.
4. Die cut flower border from Accent Essentials. Use Pro to adhere it around the openings of the birdhouse.
5. Cut trees, clouds, birds and flowers from patterned paper. Use the 3-d combo pac to begin adhering these embellishments to your birdhouse. For some of the trees, I doubled up the foam adhesive to give added dimension. Use adhesive squares to adhere the buttons.
6. Add the title and enjoy!
*If this birdhouse is going to be handled quite a bit, I’d recommend using a decoupage adhesive (like Mod Podge) to seal it.*

Cereal Box Gift Holder
Designer: Lesley Langdon

I saw this idea in a magazine and thought it was an amazing idea! Instead of making your own box out of cardstock, why not take a sturdy box that was headed to recycling, cut it to size, cover it with patterned paper and dress it all up! You just need some ribbon, a hole punch and you are good to go to that PARTY! I guarantee you, these kind of gift boxes will be used over and over again. No one would want to throw them out!

Supplies:
Glue Arts Glue Glider MAX with Perma Tac Adhesive
Glue Arts 3D UCut It Foam
Glue Arts Hot Glue Gun
My Little Shoebox (Paper, Cardstock Stickers, Alphas, Die Cut Borders and Label)
May Arts Ribbon
Big Bite Crop-a-Dile by We R Memory Keepers (hole punch)

Instructions:
1. Use an old cereal box, cut off top portion with scissors, cover with My Little Shoebox patterned paper using Glue Arts Glue Glider MAX perma tac adhesive.
2. Make rolled flowers out of patterned papers by die cutting circles and scalloped circles (Spellbinders), the cutting a swirl circular pattern from the outside all the way to the center, leaving a piece of paper in the middle (size of a quarter). Start rolling from the outside in, and hot glue the flower on the bottom and cover with the quarter size remainder of paper.
3. Use the Glue Arts Hot Glue Gun to hot glue flowers to the box, creating 2 layers. Hand cut cardstock leaves, and hot glue those as well.
4. Punch holes in sides of box, string through ribbon and tie knots. Hot glue a flower to the ribbon handle.
5. Adhere borders around the box and adhere ribbon with hot glue. Attach sticker birdhouse and piece of patterned paper for the birdhouse stand.
6. For the back of the box, adhere the label with Glue Arts UCutIt 3D foam. Adhere apple sticker and alphas.

So what is your favorite My Little Shoebox line? What GlueArts product can you not live without??

We'd love to hear and we invite you to leave us a comment! We're giving away this beautiful MLS Garden Party kit along with our must have Glue Glider Pro, a refill of your choice and our indispensable 3D Combo Pac! We'll pick one random winner next Monday who will enjoy these!!

Keep crafting and remember when you need it to stick....chose GlueArts! See you tomorrow for more from our Guest Designer and amazing Glue Girls!

Please put your hands together today and give a warm welcome to Amy Sotolongo! Amy was one of the many people who auditioned for the GlueArts design team and caught our eye! So we asked Amy if she would join us this week as our Guest Designer. We were thrilled when she accepted!!

Here's a little bit about Amy...

I am Amy Sotolongo, a junior high special education teacher by day and a creative soul by night. I have been scrapbooking since 1998 when I was jumping up and down to find my local craft store was now carrying gingham paper, polka dot paper and solids in a variety of colors. I am still amazed at how this lovely hobby emerged into such a wonderful way to express yourself artistically. I love sitting down after a long day and unwinding with paper and glue. I have had the pleasure of being on an in-store design team, a couple kit club design teams and now I teach with one of my best friends at local scrapbook stores. I have been married to the love of my life, Josh for ten years and we love to travel. Over the last two summers I have had the pleasure of visiting Ireland, England, France, Italy and Spain. I have a need to see as much of this world as I can. I also love to bake sweet treats for those I love. A new recipe is always on my counter in hopes of satisfying my sweet tooth. Anything chocolate and I'm sold!

We sent Amy some GlueArts products along with a My Little Shoebox kit and asked her to create away...here's the first of Amy's beautiful projects to share with you!!
