Poinsettia Napkin Rings
GlueArts Designer: Grace Tolman
Supplies:
Cardstock- (yellow) We R Memory Keepers; (green) Die Cuts with a View
Pattern paper- Holly Jolly Collection, Echo Park
Die cut machine- Cricut, Provo Craft
Cartridge- Mother’s Day Bouquet
Glitter glue- Golden Rod, Stickles, Ranger Industries
Brads- Autumn Splendor, We R Memory Keepers
Circle punch- ½” Marvy Uchida
Others- Empty Paper towel roll; Stitch Marker
Make these easy homemade napkin rings and be the talk of the party on your next Holiday dinner.
Instructions:
1. Add your vinyl sheet to cardstock. By doing this, you are giving the vinyl sheet more strength and sturdiness.
2. Cut your flowers on the vinyl using the die cut machine. For two poinsettia napkin rings, I used three different sizes of flowers.
3. I wanted to add a little texture to the petals of the accent it all vinyl flowers so I ran my stitch markers through them. This little handy tool can be found in the notions aisle of your local craft store.
4. To add some “holiday shine” to the flowers, I added glitter glue around the edges of each of them. Set it aside to try.
5. While the flowers are drying, cut out the base of the napkin rings from the empty toilet paper roll. I measured mine to be 1 ¾” and my pattern paper to be 2”. This way, the toilet roll won’t be noticeable.
6. Then I used my Glue Arts Perma Tac adhesive to adhere the paper to the roll.
7. Next I punched out two ½” circles from the leftover vinyl (on cardstock) sheet. I punched holes in the circles and added glittered brads to mimic the center of a poinsettia flower.
8. Then I cut out four leaves (at 3” each) using the same die cut machine and cartridge on green cardstock. I ran my stitch marker in the middle of each leaf to create a crease and then curled the edges a bit using my fingers.
9. Once the flowers have dried, I started assembling the flowers. I attached the flowers together using the Glue Arts Raisen’s adhesive.
10. I then added the leaves to the napkin rings using Glue Arts Extreme Squares.
11. Then I finished the project off by adding the flower to the napkin ring using U Cut if foam adhesive.
Beautiful right and love that these are made with our GlueArts Accent It All vinyl!
