Share the Memories with Imaginisce & GlueArts

Sharing your memories...

It's how many of us came into this wonderful craft!

We decided to take our special family photos and place them into scrapbooks filled with papers, embellishments and more.

Now this craft has allowed us to share our memories through home decor and more!

Today we're back with more inspiring projects using the new Imaginisce Happy Harvest collection and our line up of GlueArts adhesives!!

Designer Lesley Langdon has a fall layout that shows it is hip to be square!!! And Designer Andrey Pettit has such a beautiful fall wall hanging that we love! Imagine this made with products for Christmas or Valentine's Day!!  The skies the limit when you have the tools and ideas to spur you on!!

1. First we need to cut two strips of burlap to length for our project that will be the hanger. To determine how long the burlap strips should be, start by measuring the long side of your wooden plaques. Multiple that length by 3 and add about 4 extra inches for allowances on both the top and bottom, and in between each plaque.

2. Burlap tends to fray like crazy, so I suggest stitching the two strips together using a zig zag stitch. Add a large grommet to the top of the burlap ribbon to act as a hanger. This is so simple to do as the burlap has so many holes in it already. Simply push the grommet prongs through the burlap, hammer the prongs down in back, and cut the remaining burlap fabric from the center of the grommet hole.

3. Cover the 3 wooden plaques with patterned papers using Glue Arts Perma Tac adhesive. For each plaque, cut two additional strips of contrasting patterned papers, one at 3" wide and the second at 3 1/2" wide. Punch a scallop edge on the wider strip, layer the two together, and adhere to the wooden plaques. Sand the papers around the edges to remove any excess, and ink the edges using brown chalk ink.
4. Now have fun embellishing your plaques with cardstock stickers, canvas stickers, die cuts, ribbon and trim, and buttons. Use Glue Arts Ribbon Adhesive and Extreme Adhesive Squares to hold everything in place.
For the top plaque, I layered the sweet fox Sticker Stacker onto a chipboard sticker for the center and added another Sticker Stacker at the top. Added both to the plaque using Glue Arts U Cut It Foam Adhesive for depth. I created a rosette from a 1/2" strip of patterned paper and added that to the left side along with a seam binding bow, die cut leaves, canvas stickers, and a button tied with string.
The center plaque has another chipboard sticker, more canvas leaves and buttons, and a bit of paper doily trim.

The bottom plaque got more of the same. A Sticker Stacker in the middle, and more buttons, seam binding, and leaves. I cut the word family from one of the patterned papers and added it to the center.

5. Adhere your finished plaques to the burlap hanger using the Glue Arts Glue Gun.
