Especially For You Coupon Book

When the design team was given the assignment of creating something that is a Valentine theme but that can be used even after the holidays, I started thinking and came up with a coupon book. It’s the perfect personalized gift you can give any loved one AND they can use it even after all the chocolates and roses are gone. The fun thing about this coupon book is the ability to personalize it to your recipient. I’m planning on giving this to my hubby and so I added regular things like massage, date night and washing his car but I also added a coupon for working out together. He always tells me that I don’t exercise enough and so with that coupon, he can be my personal trainer for a day and I CAN’T complain about it!

Cardstock- (Pink and White) WorldWin

Instructions:
1. Make your book base. Cut a piece of white cardstock that is 6x12”. Score the paper horizontally at 3”, 3 ½” and at 8”. Fold the creases that you just made.

Instructions:
1. Make your book base. Cut a piece of white cardstock that is 6x12”. Score the paper horizontally at 3”, 3 ½” and at 8”. Fold the creases that you just made.
2. On one end of the paper, add a punched border.
3. Measure your blocks within the paper and add pattern papers that are about 1/8” smaller than your blocks. Adhere with some High Tac adhesive.
4. Cut as many pieces of pink cardstock that you’ll need to create your coupons with. I made 8 pieces that is 5 ¾ x 4 1/3” in size. With a perforation attachment to your paper trimmer (or scoring the paper) at the ½” point on one of the short sides, add a perforation line. This trick will make it easy for the recipient to tear your coupons to use.
5. Round the two corners of the other short end.
6. Cut corresponding pattern papers to adhere to the front of the coupon sheets. Make these papers ¼” smaller than the cardstock and round the two short corners as well.
7. Adhere these pattern papers onto your pink cardstock sheets.
8. In the shorter side of the perforation (the ½” side) add some adhesive and attach all of the papers to each other. This will be your binding system for the coupon sheets.
9. Add a paper strip to the front part of the binded coupon sheets to cover that part.
10. Measure the blocks on the inside of the book, add pattern papers that is 1/8” smaller than the blocks and adhere the coupon sheets in the middle.
11. Decorate the front of the card. Cut the coupon sheets from paper. Add some to the front of the book.
12. Punch holes through the edge of the paper flaps to thread the twine. Add a Velcro closure in the middle of the opening as well.
13. Print or handwrite your coupon wordings. Cut into strips.
14. Adhere a coupon design and your wording strip to the inside sheets of your book. Use Extreme and Mini Squares to adhere them.
