Scrapping Outback Reveal

A pinch and punch for the first day of the month!

Happy Autumn Greetings Everyone

Today I have a layout share created from this month's Scrapping Outback 5 Product Challenge Kit. Rachelle has put together a super cute kit and this month there are actually more than 5 products included which makes it really great value.

I love these 5 product kit challenges as they get you to really think outside the square and I had a lot of fun creating with it.

This is the kit that I have worked with

And here is what I came up with

'Jeronimo'

Photobucket

Yes I know that these photos are out of focus due to person behind the camera (Aka Moi) having the wrong shutter speed selected at the time that she was snapping happily away. But I still did love the candidness of them and wanted to use them. I guess I kinda liked the blurriness and felt that it added to the motion. So in assisting to camouflage the blur, I converted them to black and white, reduced the size of them and staggered the formation.

Photobucket

I used EVERYTHING in the kit which is a requirement of the challenge. How much of everything you use is your choice - just so long as everything has been used. The only thing I added was black pen which you are allowed.

Kit is available in the Scrapping Outback Store HERE

Get to Know Designer Cheri Wenger!!

Today we're shining the spotlight on one of our very talented designers....Cheri Wenger!

Cheri has been apart of the Glue Arts team for many years and always puts a fun creative spin on her many projects she's made for us. Today we're happy to share with you a bit about our talented Glue Girl....Cheri Wenger!!

Those of you who are Glue Arts fans probably know already that I love doing ANYTHING that involves being creative…photography, writing, illustrating, design, stamping, paper crafts so that is why I named my blog Live Life Creatively. It’s a place where I share stories about the people in my life and post projects to hopefully inspire others to live their life more creatively.

One thing I LOVE about my family is that we often have these CRAZY, silly dinner conversations…and we don’t exclude friends, boyfriends and neighbors from our antics.

One of my funniest Glue Arts projects is the “You Make Me Laugh” mini album I created a couple years ago for Summer CHA. It has a bunch of crazy family photos that really show the humorous side of my family. (If you would like to see the entire album, just click on the picasa gallery link on my blog.)

Our family life has literally been documented in photos and craft projects. I joke with any guys who start dating my girls, Ashley and Kylie, that dating comes with an unwritten contract to agree to be photographed and potentially appear in future scrapbook pages and projects. (and they look at me as if I am kidding, but really, I’m not…as they eventually find out!)

Our most recent family photo…
My absolute favorite Glue Arts project is My Beachy Bird House, one that is special to me for a number of reasons.
I have always loved the beach. It makes me feel so relaxed and close to God. This project resides on my desk as a reminder of how blessed I am to be living my dream of residing in Florida. It is crafted using the very first paper collection that I have ever designed, The Cabana Collection.
Life with two high schoolers is never dull. Our life is consumed with activities, friends, volleyball, school activities and as many trips to the beach as we can fit in.
It is hard to believe that in just a few months our oldest daughter will be graduating and soon heading to college.
This layout with the girls and my niece was created shortly after we moved to Florida in 2004.
This May will be Kylie’s 16th Birthday and Ashley’s graduation. This June, Ashley turns 18 and in August, Dan and I will celebrate our 25th anniversary. The very next day is Ashley’s move in day at college. I think Bella, our wacky wheaton terrier, is the only one not celebrating anything big this summer.
When I am not dreaming up a Glue Arts design team project to inspire you, you might catch me…

Working on an article or submission • Designing a new digital collection for my shop at www.mygrafico.com  • Creating something fun for my Project 365 Personal Challenge• Posting to my Blog • Finishing up on a graphic design project for a customer • Or escaping to the beach.

I have way too much fun using all the Glue Arts adhesives, but if I had to pick a new favorite, it would be the Micro Extreme Adhesive Squares.

Relationships we build are a lot like glue…they stick with you and hold things together when life seems to want to fall apart. I hope today, you get to live life creatively!

Thanks Cheri for sharing a bit of you with all of us!!

Before we head off today we wanted to let you know that our Glue Girl Designer Kristen Swain is the Guest Designer at one of our favorite companies...Imaginisce!! Kaisercraft NEW Timeless Collection: A project share

Photobucket

Earlier in the week I featured a card that I had created using the new Kaisercraft Timeless Collection. Check out the Kaisercraft Blog today to see the other projects that the Design Team have come up with and the layouts and cards that have already been featured earlier this week.

Here's another little project that I have created with these awesome papers.

'Happiness is Homemade' Sewing Caddy

Photobucket

Materials Used: Timeless Collection Patterned Papers Ledger (P652), Dress Form (P655), World Map (P657); Wooden Flourishes – Manequins(FL335), Paper Blooms – Aubergine (F637), Sage (F632) & Packaging, Mini Crochet Doilie (EM951), Grosgrain Ribbon – Antique (RI604), Organza Ribbon – Green (RI618), Lace - Natural; Homemade Collection: Journal Tag, Rub Ons( RB879), Embellishment Pack – Buttons (EM936); Class of ’87 Patterned Paper Show & Tell – Paper Strip. Other: Chipboard/ Strong Cardboard, Hat Pin, Felt, Sewing items, Hot Glue Gun, Double Sided Tape, Foam Tape, Ink

Which opens up to reveal this

Photobucket

Photobucket

The caddy has been constructed along the lines of an ‘exploding album box’ concept. Constructed from strong sturdy chipboard and covered with Timeless Collection patterned papers. I have lined the inside the caddy with felt inserts so that pins and needles slid easily in and out of.

And showing the top lid detail

Photobucket

The top of the lid has been decorated with a clock cut from the ‘World Map’ patterned paper along with some buttons (Homemade Collection), lace, ribbons, manequin wooden flourish (new), tape measure (Class of '87), hat pin (from my stash) and of course pretty paper blooms (recently released).

My Precious Little Angel

Hello Lovely People!!

Well I was further inspired by all the Prima loveliness that I had pulled out earlier in the week for the February BAP which I didn't end up using. So rather than put it all away, and as it was already sitting on my desk, I created.... this

'My Precious Little Angel'

Her smile beams with sunshine which fills our hearts with love

Photobucket

And a closer look

Photobucket

Gosh this photo takes me back a bit - our littlest girl 'Miss N' when she was 9 months old (she is now 3.9). As the saying goes time does fly indeed and who says you have to scrap in chronological order LOL!!.
For this layout I decided against the 'traditional girly pink' for a baby layout and went for something a bit bolder. Miss N has always had a somewhat 'bold' personality - she is certainly not introverted by any means.

Photobucket

I have mixed it up with a few of my favourite things - Patterned Paper (Prima) , Blooms (Prima and paper roses) , Chipboard - Twiddleybitz, Scrapping Outback, MME and Prima , Stamping - Technique Tuesday, Die cutting - Spellbinders & Sizzix, Embossing - Cuttlebug, Punched Edges - Stampin Up Scallop Border Punch, Misting - Tattered Angels Chalk Mist, Bling - Kaisercraft & Kindy Glitz, Rubons - Kaisercraft, Transparency - Hambley Screen Prints, and Bows - Kaisercraft Ribbon.

I have entered this layout in The Scrapbook Awards 'Baby' Category. It would be awesome if you could pop over HERE and vote if you are inclined. Thanks ever so much - I appreciate your support.

Sakura Quickie Glue pen
Little Yellow Bicycle Cupcake Love Collection: Lollipop Stripe with Glitter CS; Canvas Border Stickers; Flower Button Dots; Favorite Pieces Cardstock Stickers; Heart Cut-Out Sheet with Glitter; Chipboard Shapes and Journal Tablet

Assorted Buttons; rhinestone brad (Stampin’ Up!®); photo; black marker

Instructions:
1.Cut out Love Banners from CS sheet.
2. Diecut letters in fonts of choice for title and swirly flourishes using personal diecut machine. Gather other supplies you want to use on layout.
3. Postion border strips, title banners, swirl flourishes, matted photo, journaling sheet, flower chipboard, ribbons and layered Flower Button dot on top of metallic sea glass cardstock.
4. Cut out thin strip from Lollipop Strip with Glitter CS and cut out stickers from sheet leaving backing on for positioning purposes. DESIGNER TIP: Figure out positioning of elements and take digital photos for reference when removing and gluing items onto layout.
5. Remove backing from border strips or apply extreme adhesive directly to back side of bottom border. Carefully align with top of layout and slowly apply to layout. You won't be able to reposition so be sure of placement. Adhere 2nd border strip on top using Pro with Extreme Adhesive.
6. Cut (4) 2" strips of pink ribbon. Use Pro with high tac or extreme adhesive and apply it to back of ribbons using scrap paper beneath.
7. Apply U-Cut-It to back of L & V banners to raise these up.

Add O & E banners with Extreme Adhesive and Pro. TIP: you can use your Micro Extreme Adhesive Squares packaging to mark placement while you are adding adhesive to the back of the banner.
8. Use pro and high tac adhesive to attach large flourish to layout. Add matted photo on top at an angle, but don’t press down left corner yet!
9. Remove backing from stickers & add snap shot and date to layout. Wrap excess from date sticker around back side of layout.
10. Place thin strip, flourish and chipboard flower over journal sheet to add journaling to sheet prior to attaching to layout underneath photo edge and other elements. (This way if you make a mistake you can fix on sheet before attaching permanently to the layout.
11. Attach strip at an angle over top with Pro and add adhesive button flower on top. Use high tac to attach flourishes and chipboard flower. Use Micro Extreme Adhesive Squares to attach all buttons to layout.
12. Use cutting knife to make a slit to insert rhinestone brad onto top flourish.
