Summer
If I had to sum up this summer in 10 words:
Hot, slushies, pool, sweaty, vacation, beach, rides, family, fun and puppy!
What a great way to start a scrapbook page. What you love or even better...what you don't!
Designer Leslie Ashe shows a photo is NOT necessary when creating a wow scrapbook page. Her unique page documents a hot hot summer and one she wishes was just a bit cooler.
Designer Audrey Pettit shows through her bright and colorful mini book how her family cooled off at Raging Rivers water park. It's the perfect way to document a fun day spent in the water cooling off!!!
Supplies:

1. A trick I like to use when putting together a mini album is to create sort of a formula that I repeat on every page. This will help your album come together more quickly and gives you a more cohesive finished design, too. For my album, I came up with the formula of one 4x6 photo in the middle of each page, flanked by strips and blocks of patterned papers on each side. The largest block gets scallops punched with a border punch and then layered in the center with a contrasting strip of paper. The other smaller side gets thinner strips of papers. That basic pattern is repeated on every page of the album. All the papers are adhered with Glue Arts High Tac adhesive.
2. Once the photos and papers are in place, you can embellish away with cardstock stickers and elements cut from the patterned papers. I repeated a motif of banners and fussy cut fish popped up with Glue Arts U Cut It foam adhesive throughout my mini and just changed up the papers and other elements so that each page has it's own unique look. For the cover, I added cardstock alphabet stickers to the banner for the title work.
3. A journaling card cut from the patterned paper replaces the scalloped piece on one of the pages, and was a perfect fit. I still added the fussy cut fish and banner pieces, and also added some hand-written journaling strips as well. Little bows were attached to each banner using Glue Arts Micro Extreme Adhesive Squares.
4. With just this simple formula, you can complete your own mini album in no time.

GlueArts 3D U Cut It Foam
Echo Park: Splash
Directions:
-cut main background paper to 8 1/2" x 11" and use as landscape.
-cut 2nd sheet of patterned paper 7" x 12" and layer lengthwise (landscape) on top
-trim scallop edges from different patterned paper and layer under top and bottom of 2nd patterned paper
-using 3D U Cut It Foam, adhere your photo to tle left side of your layout
-add sticker sentiment to top of photo:
-then add dots to your letters if desired
-cluster stickers next to the right side of your photo, then add flourish (water) sticker
(a little mistake I made on my layout actually turned out to be a fun step! I didn't mean for my silver pen to bleed like it did and my hand rubbed it. GAH! Anyway...because of it, I decided it looked a bit like the paper had been burned - because of the serious heat! So in a way I want to apologize for that mistake...but then again, I must say..I kinda like it! To each his own....)
-next add journaling strips under letter stickers
